Nice job. Seen a few done to f 100 back in the 80s as the 302 was too small for much and the people that owed them were cashed up coal mine workers. Usually hooked up to a 4 speed auto.
karelfoster , if you adjust the fuel and rpm, and advance the timing about 4 degrees, it will REALLY wake up. I have pictures of it on my how-to page. Super easy to do(except the timing).
Caterpillar sell the parts..........as a 10.4 litre diesel.........it should be able to handle 300hp no problem with mild boost. The 3208 was commonly used in 22 ton rigid trucks. Their only issue was no replaceable sleeves like many small capacity diesels so they have limited rebuild lives. But we're still talking 700,000km to 1,000,000km on a rebuild pushing a heavy truck.
@@RBFR01 you'll get 1 million K's out of a 12ht, couldn't tell you how many out of the cat as they're not commonly put into cars, but overall considering reliability, fuel economy, longevity and power/performance the 12ht would be the pick
@@karelfoster with only 3k that extra gear would have been nice - getting it working less-so :) I have an extra 300rpm and a 6th - but the trans is also completely apart at the moment - so not my favourite thing.
