My cat has cellulitis and it smells. It's small cut under the eye. She must of got clawed by the completion in the long cold envous winter. I am not veterinarian I just learn about it. I may have to take her in. Thank You.
Why do some vets faff about with abscesses like that. When my cats or ferrets used to get them the vet would lance it with a scalpel and wash out the hole and then allow any further muck to drain out. Antibios and the job is done. All this sticking a drain in is so unnecessary.
It depends on the size if it needs a drain or not. This cat was stroppy even to examine so a drain was placed while she was under sedation so it didnt recur! (see other comment)
Mam my cat also same means my cat is bitten by other cat it cause some sollen in thigh it is hard in that region, and from today my doesn't walk properly due to the pain do plz tell me the home remidies plzz mam i want my cat my cat like my baby😭
Rubbish technique actually. Drawing out something that could of been done and dusted much quicker. All this drainage tube and stuff is unnecessary. Just lance with a scalpel and washout the inside of the drained abscess. Job done and covered with antibios. Never seen it dragged out like this before.
My cat gets in a fight with a another male cat alll the time. I don’t know what to do. They’ve had about 15 fights so far it’s crazy. We tried to stop her from going outside but she constantly meows and makes us feel bad so we let her go but then the other cat is always waiting for her. He’s like twice her size and I think he could hurt her really bad if he wanted to but he doesn’t. We took her to the vet and they said she has scratches but none too deep. I don’t know what to do. Will they ever stop fighting. Please help
Keep her in for her own safety. She WILL get used to it. 15 fights? That must be traumatic for her. If she was diabetic and needed insulin twice a day or got (god forbid) the big C and needed painkillers twice a day, you would have to make sure she was in the house to get her meds. We are their protectors. Each time you let her out, you are giving her to the big, bad school bully who is twice her size. Would you. Like that? I know I wouldn’t. Please keep her in. The world is not a nice place. Xxx
Having the same problem it's a nightmare.. My cat has been in and out of the vet all week so far for treatment for an abscess on her tail, the other cat bit through both sides. Cost over £500 so far as she had to be sedated for treatment yesterday 😵 It's a pain but it's very hard to get rid of other cats as they tend to keep fighting over territory. I have had some success with a hose pipe however, not something I enjoy doing but our garden belongs to our cat not others.
@@Gemzstone1Well if the vet is dealing with it the same way as this vet is, I’m not surprised you’re spending so much time and money at the vets! It would take days for that abscess to drain the way she’s done it, and the antibios won’t work so well if the puss hasn’t fully been drained. Really don’t understand why she’s done it this way. Common sense will tell you that lancing, removing the puss and then washing out the hole is the quickest way to get it to heal. Leave the hole open, ( without stitches), so any fluid can drain out of course.
