Your video is a miracle. I am assembling a rebuilt Shibaura N844T engine and was just about to mount the cover. I can't say why I clicked on your video except it came up on the list of suggested videos after I watched one or two regarding installing the oil pump (none were very informative). There's nothing in the title of your video that would have related it to a N844(L) except if I'd known that particular engine is in the machine you're working on. Lucky for me, I checked the spring. Good thing I did because it wasn't hooked over the notch in the cover. It had come loose and I just guessed where it goes; but I was wrong. You didn't say which hole the other end of the spring goes in. There are three possibilities. Can you say for certain which one it's supposed to be in? Thanks for an outstanding (miraculous??) video.
Beware of clip on aluminum oil pump stub in block . It must index with plate between aluminum cover and block or will not allow sealing of gasket and leak oil . Shubara Perkins motor .
Question. This one i got wont even start with starting fluid. Just had to replace the glow plug relay because it wasnt working. Pulled glow plugs and ohm them out, all good. Also Cleaned and re landed all the 2 main ground/bonding wires. Any ideas? Pulling valve cover next. Oil looks like oil, same with anti freeze.
