I'm a independent shop. Had open my door to back out a pickup. Backed out the truck, then all of a sudden a falcon flew in the shop and landed on a customer's 68 roadrunner. After it flew back out, I turned around and looked up on top of the roadrunner and there was a gopher, alive! That was exciting to chase out.

Knipex makes great stuff. Stings a little paying for them, but no regrets.

I love the Knipex tools...i have flush cutters, diagonal cutters, the plier wrenches and various snap ring pliers, never let me down. My German boss says it's "kneepex" fwiw.

Ah good call on those pliers! I hate those solenoids on the c13s. The fuel enable valve, the IVA oil control valve, and the CGI control valve solenoids always give me an issue. The nut gets stuck to the coil part and the whole damn thing spins. A normal wrench won't fit on the base. You have to grind it down to fit.

We also learned; a cheap repair is about $400 USD

I have one of those Knipex plier wrench things, I like it but prefer the basic water pump pliers (knipex) because they grip better and are narrower.

Most guys would have told them to put injectors in the truck anyways good for you be honest

Sorry to bother you but I have no experience at all with diesel and I am the proud new owner of a Thomas School Bus that I am going to convert to a skoolie. It has a 3126E with a CKM 4XXXX serial number, 103 miles. It runs GREAT, no smoke but, I have a few issues. One is, that on cold mornings (cold by SoCal standards, cool to anyone else) when I turn the key, nothing happens, no dash lights come on, no 'click'. BUT, if I just leave the key in that on position (just before the crank position) it will, in one to 3 minutes, come on, dash lights, gauges on and it starts like nothing is wrong. It can't be that it's supposed to act that way, could it? its a 2003 Thomas Bus with a 2002 manufacture date for the motor. Any thoughts? What should I check and or look to replace? I am competent at following directions. The other two issues are it will tend to run hotter than 220˚ up hill in hot weather. Not big hills either. And can start to run this hot in stop n' go traffic if I have to sit at idle in drive for any extended period. The third thing is that the motor is 'governor' controlled to not want to drive over 55. I got the bus from Virginia and that seems to be a regulation there. I think that if I could get that all turned off, I could get lower RPMS (currently 2300 at 55). Thank you for whatever assistance you can provide.

Kind of an unrelated comment, but I recently purchased a gmc c6500 with a 3126, i was considering running amsoil diesel 15-40. Good bad yes no? The only videos iv found about it seem to be advertising.

Im from Pakistan - Ive got an 2012 Hilux Invincible which I imported it from the U.K cause the ones made in Pakistan do not have intercoolers! - Anyways I want to inspect the engine from the inside like the rod bearings, piston rings, any and all clearances etc - So as Ive got drive way, porch & a garage at my place - I was thinking after buying all the necessary safety equipment & tools for the job like the torque wrench and all lol - To bring my mechanic who actually understands how the work should actually be done at my place and have him do the job here - After researching and understanding on how to properly do it - I can guide him better. This Hilux was the first & last 4x4 by father bought me before he passed away so its really important for me - Since Im into Automobile Mechanics I was thinking of doing a course or something from abroad and make my own workshop here.

I have a C7 2005 F650 KEY ON IM GETTING NO POWER TO HEUI. The ecm fuse hit the ecm combines with the ignition to ecm to fire the ecm which feeds the engine portion of the motor? Im curious on my next move. I hooked a laptop to it but not able to connect like its not fully getting power to the connector for diag. I put a power probe into the diag connector i have hard power on 6 out of 8 pins. The two pins have power but like a flickering dim light. Any thought on my issue sir? Tia

My bus / daily driver has shutters in front of radiator so we can put all the heat inside the bus to keep passengers warm in winter, shutters recently been misbehaving opening n closing while it doesn’t make sense like closed when warm engine or open when cold engine cold out. Has vacuum to engine block on an electrical sensor.

Thank God I haven't experience some of the issues you talked about but atleast with what I learned I can use that to do a lot of preventative maintenance. Here's a question I want to ask you. I just got an 05 w900l. Coolant keep seeping through radiator cap. I recently change the cap b4 cause I lost the old one. The other day I saw my radiator cap turned almost half way. What do you think the issue is?

We used to remove output line install a line with tee 8000 psi guage plug the end of the tee, crank, dead head test should get near 4000 psi if it can then leak is an injector upstairs

Fastest way to check ICP issues is dead heading the pump with a gauge. Or popping the valve cover off and physically checking for excessive oil leakage around injector seals while cranking or running.

that "stuff" you found and used has its place, but is best used sparingly. if an engine needs it to start every single time something is wrong
