We tried that with our foster cat a few months after she had a litter, to see if she would temporarily take care of a few kittens we got in. She would not go anywhere near them and whenever we brought them near her her eyes would bulge and she would try to scramble out of there

People tend to base every standard on humans - even when considering things not human & therefore often get it wrong. They are not open to the idea that there are other ways & means out there & building a mental wall to other considerations makes the human not reach his or her potential - & it IS said by those who study this that we as humans DON'T come anywhere close to using our own capabilities. I have ALSO heard that cats can heal themselves with their purrs - something to do with the frequency of their purrs. I find this fascinating! It seems pretty obvious that they can't ALWAYS heal themselves as my vet bills would have been much smaller if this was the case! I had always meant to ask my cats' vet about this before though, but never did. Sadly my cats have passed on now so I don't see the vet (& I am not in a position to have anymore cats right now.) I’ve seen them actually so we needed to seclude them in a very quiet place and only a few people the rabbit mom knew can take care of them. And strangers could not look at the rabbit or her babies. Not cats. Cats are predatory animals. They would keep their kittens separately for weeks from the rest of the cat family and even a father cat until old enough and they move the kittens every few days but they don’t consume their own babies.

There’s animals like Koalas that are constantly exhausted because they only eat eucalyptus which is poisonous to them so their bodies spend all their energy just trying to break down the poisons. Seems like there’s a lot of pretty bad designs, or they really are just accidents from nature

animals are much closer to humans in terms of communications than we usually expect. animals tend to have this silent form of communication that is accented with subtle body movement and other signals we can barely perceive for the most part. the animal world is a fascinating one.

As a life long cat owner I'd prefer the puppy to grow up to become a dog, dogs are smart but cats have smart independence n I wouldn't want a dog that has too much independent brain power❤

My chihuahua was born in a house with kittens born at same time. He has cat-titude! I swear he believes he's a cat sometimes.
