Back filling a deep unused excavation in progress with the CAT D-11 providing the impetus. The push is a bit dangerous as the edge is near vertical into the pit. A nice growl can be heard from the big CAT as it hovers near the edge.
Yep. Good times for sure! Still love that butterfly feeling in the gut when it's almost time to back up. But we always push our luck a little extra lol 🍻
hey man this is a great video I work on D10 D11 on a massive stock pile pushing in and out this here looks like something we call slot pushing and I tell you the dirt your moving with that 11 is just mastery in action mate well done💪
Man, I've spent some hours like this! There's a pretty good "pucker factor" when you hit that edge and you feel that stuff start sliding off from in front of your blade, no matter how many times you hit that point!
+Newman McIntosh same, although not on this scale. Very similar is backfilling canals, sweep dyking, you gotta go far enough to make the push but back out as you nose down careful not to lose the dozer! talk about tight butthole
I always like watching equipment work I don't know why even as a kid so nice video another note I don't know how big that drop is in front of that dozer looks large it must be adrenaline rush at the end of the push
Ive done this for 13 years it never scared me but yku must be carefull ,shen starting a new trench you push the first blade of dirt over with ghe next, untill you get out past the edge!
metelbod That would be a neat video but real hard to capture. The CAT usually worked at the pile for shorter intervals until it was called else where in the pit. All told the dozer spent more then 2 weeks at that task on and off. Bit of a gamble stopping by whether anything was happening on a particular day.
I ran an 11 for years. This operator really really needs to get the height off his right side. If an operator done this where i worked they would get a good talking to.
Hes gonna create a slide on his right side. That cant be safe to have that cut above you like that .idk. Just observation. Id love to run one of these somewere flat to start . power is awesome
The same thing happened to me when I was a kid. Dug a hole in the backyard and my mom made me fill it in. This guy's probably gonna be late for dinner just like me.
The operator should thunk about cutting down the high bank beside the slot. Dangerous to cut so deep. The side will fall in on the machine one day. Blade deep is the normal rule.
I don't what is worst being at the bottom of that mine or pushing the top back in. There is a really sad video of 30 men being buried alive at the bottom of a wall like that which gave way, 1/2 a mountain on top of them.
Brilliant Observation! Amazing attention detail back in those days - I wouldn’t have bothered to hide so much nuance. But the again I’ve never had to manage a flood.
actually the bigger they are the more boring. They move so slow and this dozer is in 1st gear all the time as steep as he is. I think a D6 about funnist size to run
lol that is dumb that is a unstable hill keep cutting deeper he is gonna cause the bill to come down on him shed that will push him over the edge. I operate 475 kamatsu. And that add the d11 are about equal in vibration dangerous spot to be in
