Might this game be about a "crazy" depressed man that is trying to hide from his demons? It seems as though he attempted to commit suicide a few times, but that demon did not allow him, so he is stuck in his head with the demon who will keep him alive, but ensure that every moment of his life is filled with torture.

Here's the explanation for this story that I gathered... "F.E.A.C" stands for "Fear Extraction and Control" Extraction and control make it sound as though its an organization that wants to cure people's fears, but if you think about the word "extraction" it may be quite possible that they're merely trying to bring them to life... Other things that back this idea are that the doctor speaking to the player said "their goal is impossible", followed by him later being told by another doctor "we've finally found what we've been looking for..." and then the aforementioned doctor committed suicide. After which, the patient finds the cat-monster-hallucination thing standing in a room, and it says "I'm finally real." The "F.E.A.C." machinery right next to the operation chair was probably hooked up to sleeping patients to gather information about their fears through vivid hallucinations. Perhaps they had hopes of using this information to construct these fears into reality or something? This seems backed by the fact that, after the patient found the knife, the screen said "recalling patient" but never finished loading... "system failure" flashed on the screen. I take this to mean the patient never fully regained consciousness. Take that how you will. As well as that, all of the patients that didn't seem to display odd behaviors having to do with entities separate from themselves were terminated, yet the ones who seemed to hallucinate different beings into the world around them were kept around. normally this was augmented by a quote from the patient, that was important enough to be clearly written in an official document about them that wasn't very long. It stands to reason that F.E.A.C. Wouldn't write unnecessary information on their documents. So the quotes must be important. and all of them that were recorded had to do with "higher entities" or talking kittens and the like. Fears. Also, if a person's greatest fear were extracted from their being, I would likely commit suicide too. especially if I were in the same building as said fear. Haha!

Whenever I watch a Pewds play a horror game, I have to go into 'safe mode'. This is done by hiding in a blanket, holding onto my pet, and mainly scrolling through the comments.

Does anyone else turn off the lights, put it in fullscreen, wear a good set of headphones and turn it up so that you WANT to get scared? I love being scared... xD

The Darude-Sandstorm joke started out in the britbong(british pothead kids who quickscope on COD)youtube community months ago. Anyone else get this problem where you keep your volume low to avoid freaking out too much if there is a jumpscare but then you can't hear half if not all of what the game is saying LOL. Wish every game has subtitles when a voiceover or character speaks for pussies like moi X'D

Pewds, I got the story. Mark Avian has a fear of a creature he made up himself. It followed him everywhere, even though it was a creation of his sick mind and couldn't hurt him physically, it was freaking out him psychologically. He started drinking, it only made things worse. Psychologists couldn't help him. He tried to suicide, but this monster blocked this ability mentally, since it exists as long as Mark is alive. He was brought to F.E.A.C. for a psychological experiment, but it went wrong. The monster became real, and Mark was found dead next to the F.E.A.C. lab exit. Happy end. P.S. I think this game has multiple endings. Use the keycard on one of the locked doors.

For those wanting to know about the Darude -Sandstorm meme, and those of you who say it without even knowing where it came from. It came from way back in 2008 RU-vid when Gaming channels wanted to use a song but many of them were commonly Copyrighted. So, for some reason, the song Darude - Sandstorm was found and it just caught on to other gaming channels because it was not Copyrighted. I have no clue why it was the most popular song to use, but it was. So then people commented asking, "Song name?" And people replied "Darude - Sandstorm". Then somehow it just caught on as a meme eventually. Now, can anybody tell me where I can find a life? I heard Walmart has some.

My theory on this is that the character you play as is haunted by a demon he tries to kill himself to escape, as well as tries to drink the demon away, he goes to this facility to get help, not knowing that rather than trying to get rid of the demon, they were trying to extract it, and set it loose on the world. The Doctor who wanted to help hooked you up to a machine, putting you into your conscious, attempting to find a way to destroy the demon, but his theory was wrong, then the other doctor freed the demon. At least that's my theory.
