Appreciate your comments, suggest you try to contact Trade Winds Resort as I'm not sure if they are still open as owner was said to be trying to sell up but then Covid struck so not sure if the property is still running - hope it is though as it was a great little place and probably the best beach we have ever come across. There are few things to do on Cat Island but that didn't worry us at all as we spent every day in the ocean either swimming or snorkelling and just relaxed. Hope you do manage to stay there I'm sure you will really enjoy it. I would really like to know what you thought of Exuma as it's somewhere we are considering as we really like the Out Islands having already been to Long Island, Eleuthera & Spanish Wells. We loved Exuma and the simplicity of flying into Georgetown without having to take that 'third' leg on a turboprop into one of the smaller islands like Cat or Long Island. We took Delta from Ohio to Atlanta and then direct to GGT/Georgetown from Atlanta. We were on Exuma at lunchtime. We stayed at Hooper's Bay in an Airbnb and fed the turtles lettuce in the shallow water...really neat. Then we stayed a few days in a 2-bedroom Villa (called Musha Cay) at Paradise Bay and loved it. No snorkeling there really but we rented a boat for 2 days from Minn's Watersports and explored Stocking Island having lunch over there at a great place called the Snappy Turtle. We wanted to snorkel but it was a bit too choppy in the spots they say there is good snorkeling so ended up on a secluded beach at an abandoned (unfinished) resort on Crab Cay and had the place to ourselves. We found a few places to snorkel there from the beach. We loved the seclusion of Cape Santa Maria (seemed much like your stay on Cat but you had way better snorkeling) but liked the conveniences of more restaurants and grocery shopping options in Georgetown. If you look it up you'll find there are two airports in Cat Island one in the north called Arthurs Town Airport and one in the south called the Bight. Sadly the resort we stayed in I understand is no longer available as it is now a privately owned residence
