I’ve had a pair of the 6” Caterpillar gravel boots for two years, they’re still going strong. Just ordered the same pair as you are reviewing. Had a pair of Dr Marten rigger boots before that and the lining went before the soles or the outer! thanks Rob. ps great review!

Thanks for he video. I just got a pair of these for cold and wet weather as my last boots just started to leak. I’m hoping they will last the rest if this winter and next winter too. When it warms up i’ll change back to my Thorogoods

Thank you. Out of all my boots these were defiantly the most comfortable. I was also the most gutted over when they split to. I defiantly would like another pair of boots with the zip up the side again as that was very usfull.

Hey Mark, firstly I wanted to thank you for your in depth reviews and compliment your delightful nature and humor! I've been stuck researching boots for a few days and keep stumbling across your videos as it seems we have very similar taste/needs in work boots! After a lot of deliberation I think I'm going to go with a set of these Cats and have to import them from UK to Denmark(I agree the zip is a big plus and waterproof is a must for brewery work). I usually wear a 43(UK 9) but occasionally capped boots can be a little odd in sizing. Ideally I'd try a pair and buy local but not finding any options selling Cats in Europe where at least I don't have to pay for importing. Perhaps you can tell me how you found the sizing on these? Cheers from Denmark!

Hello and thank you for your kind words. The Cats were definatly the most comfortable boots i've ever had, Lovly soft leather and they have a nice feel to them. Size wise i'm a size uk9 or 42-43 Euro size and i did't have any problems with the fit of these. That said I have narrow feet and i'm light and skinny, but for me however i have the same sized work boot as i do my normal shoes. I was just slighty gutted they only lasted around 6 months, As these were also the most expensive boots i was a bit disapointed in that. If you are a little unsure size wise i would definatly check out the returns policy just in case you do need to go up or down half a size, Sadly there is no substitute to being able to try the dam things on. Although i must admit i normally buy over the internet as i can get a better deal. Hope this sort of helps, Good luck.

I've had 3 sets of these.. The first was the Cat Supremacy which was the most comfortable work boots I've ever tried and the Zip-On, Zip-Off is the best. They were going great until 3 months in and the toe cover wore off due to me tiling a cement floor and the top constantly on the cement. Still as comfy but not smart looking with the steel toe exposed . Then came along set 2 and 3 of the Cat Premier.. At first i'd say not as comfy as the Supremacy which was instant comfort. These took a few days to set it in for total comfort . I wear them 10-12 hours almost daily while driving, fitting kitchens, bathrooms and they're the best ever boots. The comfort is second to none. 6 months in and no wear and tear in sight. Just about to order another pair so I rotate every few days. I do clean then often so they tend to last way over a year but then again, all my daily use is domestic and no rough site walking around.

Looks like you had better luck with yours then me. They are definatly the most comfortable boots i'[ve ever had, i'm just gutted the sole went after 7 months. Perhaps its becouse i'm pulling and pushing one ton pallets up and down the trailer floor when i'm loading or unloading.

Haix high liability boots can take loads of abuse , mine are hardly marked & after a quick polish they come up like new. Also they are great to ride the bike with, they are not steel tip however they do have a firm toe box with a bump guard. I like these updates you do regarding the life of your boots, it's a shame the docs no longer do the for life brand. My guess is it was no long profitable with the amount of fails being returned due to premature failure.

Thanks Mike, I've not seen the Haix boots but I will defiantly look them up. I'm on Magnums at the moment which have lasted 3 months, seem to be lasting with no signs of anything going as of yet. Time will tell.

Caterpillar are terrible unfortunately. Had lots over the years. The longest survivors made it 9 months. S3 Protection is like concrete blocks on the feet. When I was in forestry we were supplied with Stihl S3 safety boots. Expensive and very heavy but lasted for years.

These ones were nice to wear, just a pity they only lasted 9 month. They were lighter then the Hoggs, not sure how heavy they were against the DR's or the Grinders there no noticeable difference.

Hey buddy.. thanks for your Videos. What did you end up.doing? Could you get the re-soled? Know what you mean with the Made in England and the Made in China Steel toe Docs... They're night and day. Have you looked on eBay? You can still get 2nd hand, brand new (new old stock), made in England Steel toe Boots for a great price. Or there's Solovair.. made in England they still do steel toes? But pretty expensive. Thanks again 👍

Hi Shay and thank you for taking the time ti watch my videos an comment. I haven't resold the cat's as yet but I still have them sitting in my front porch and I do intend to take them to a shop one day and see if he can do it. I did take the Grinders in and they said they weren't worth doing. One thing I do know about the Doc's is I can find them without the steel toe that are made in Briton, But as soon as I go steel toe there made In China, Which is what inspired me to start making videos on which are the best boots. I'm trying a pair of Magnums at the moment which were the same price as the cat's, There not as nice or comfortable but they have outlasted them so far and there not showing any signs of falling apart as yet. I'm doing a video on them but I won't complete the video until they fall apart so we'll wait and see how long that takes. Take care, Mark
