Love that she's embracing a vocal style like on her early albums, hope it means she is more comfortable with her inner weirdo and will take more risks. Though I have also loved all of her recent albums :)

Heard this in the radio today-spent 1 hour to find the song and so glad I found it 🤩 Absolutely hypnotic and well performed
Just watched Chan perform this live and I was in tears. The woman is a gifted storyteller in her own right but her interpretation of the covers she curates is evocative and haunting.
Her genius is revealed by following the lyrics as she sings along. Every word is twisted and turned over its head to turn this beauty of a lyric into this tour de force of a song!! love it. regret not knowing of this band earlier on.

Does anyone know what effect she has on the mic is it just a ton of reverb? Or compression? I don’t know anything about it but it picks up so much subtlety and warm tone. She doesn’t have to belt stuff out.... would love to know.
Chan, ... Go for the gold with this!.... Perform it just like this wherever you sing it. I haven't heard a composition this superb in a long, long time. Keep this classic style of your singing voice... Don't change you singing style. By the way, in my opinion, this live performance actually sounds way better than the studio cover version.
the original was amazing. as a song its unique in its structure and its theme- a mans grappling with his sexuality. its about experiencing a new kind of heartbreak- kindve like the film call me by your name. its already unusual subject matter but chan has really transformed the song itself and redesigned it without losing one ounce of emotion. thats so difficult for most musicians but she just does it effortlessly.
