My husband loved this. He was dying with a brain tumour and wanted it played at his funeral. He passed 27/3/23 and I had this played for him as he wanted 😢
It's all a dream and Cat played it perfect. My first wife died of cancer 20 years ago. I was an trained EMT at the time and found myself alone in a very rural area. Ended up with PTSD. Did remarry but she also died with a brain tumor. All now dreams.
This version is terrible - she has taken all the melody out of it and reduced it to a bland warble. AWFUL - the Bryants must be turning in their graves ...
Music just has this beautiful affect on people. It's a language spoken by all, it can express things that no words could ever capture, it conveys emotion that sometimes we can't convey. Our music changes us through the years, makes us who we are in a sense. It's coping, it's hobby. It's human, sometimes holy. Music is a beautiful thing.
Imma admit, this isn’t my favourite song, but when I close my eyes and listen to it, many emotions rush through my head. This brings me forgotten memories I haven’t remembered in years. I never know what things will come to my next, mind after I listen to this. I Could write a book 3000 pages long about this song,. I’ve never known a song to be so powerful and pure. It’s amazing how some piano and singing can do so much. This song must be the most powerful song I’ve listened to. It will never get old in my mind This song means so much to me.
WOW Once in a while I come across a song that just blows me away and this is one of them, love her voice, such a beautiful version, id never even heard of cat power and I cannot believe I owe thanks to easy jet!

I finally get around to listening to this, yes, the E-Jet advert. My mind has been blown. Her voice is so soothing and sexy at the same time & the emotion pushes, right through the whole song. The simplicity makes you connect even though it doesn't even relate to me. I can't believe I've never heard this cover before. Cat Power you are a gem! 👌🏻

Wow.... A Nightingale descended from heaven and sang this beautiful, haunting lullaby for us all to listen to in amazement!!!! Catpower never ceases to to enchant with that childlike voice. What a force of nature she is. "Sea of Love" and "Paths of Victory" soar with a breathless honesty. A true musician!!!

Welp, I always thought the lyrics were "DRINK" in place of DREAM. I kinda like my version better. I don't know why I didn't get it though - the title is Dreams
James Metselaar it's a B-Side to one of her singles, I got my hands on a second hand copy just for this song. She should release this as a single in its own right or have it available to stream/download as it would do exceptionally well. Definitely a missed opportunity if she doesn't.
This is such a SWEET version! I love how she sings a song differently each time. She does truly follow her heart and her heart is truly in her music.Thankyou for giving it to me!

I love Everly Brothers and Cat Power equally because Everly has that sound and charm of the 50s while Cat Power has made her cover her own without making sound depressing and really slow like every other cover today
Love this song.. seen it on the EasyJet ad at cinema with my daughter. Felt like a truly special moment - especially as the EasyJet aircraft are her favourites. 5Star!
