I love the detail about the plant. Too much water causes the plant to die just as too much care/hold on to children by their parents can kill the child's creativeness, decision-making skills, independence, street smart skills, etc. Too much control often gives opposite results than the intended one. Children learn to lie, hide secrets, disobey secretly, have a relationship with their parents full of lies(only showing them what they want to see) and not being able to be fully genuine with them in terms of true feelings, thoughts and problems.
This horror game reminds me of 'Chi No Wadachi', a japanese psychological horror manga. is about a growing up boy who is living trauma with his mother, who is psychological abusive and manipulating him since he was a kid. Starting with his mother killing his own pet cat in front of him since he was a kid, and pushing his cousin off the cliff.
"What do you want to do!" sounds like he was inviting teacher for icecream and hanging out at the local fairground. I'd rephrase it like "what are you doing?", "what do you want from me?", "what are you going to do with me?", etc.
Having experienced the toxicity of a manipulative and sadistic mother as a kid, I really want to try this game, but at the same time fear it may echoes too much with my past life. Need to think about it first.
btw guys The Bad Kids (2020) is an awesome 12 episode series with stellar cast, plot and cinematography --- its one of the best c-dramas i've seen in awhile
This reminds me a little bit of my childhood. If I acted out of line or misbehaved when I was a kid (like playing video games or hanging out with my friends instead of studying) my mom would guilt trip me about how she survived the Korean War as a new born baby and sacrificed so much immigrating to the US, just for me to be lazy and play games all day.
what I think is Chao Yang mother was an evil entity and also she like a manipulator , she thinks her son doing bad things and whenever she see her son doing bad , she will make a time loop for her son as a punishment for everything he done wrong , the real thing is her mother was insane psychopath which suffer a PTSD and also a selfish entity even her son did right things . the fox shadows resemblance Chao Yang Subconsciousness which he know everything that Chao Suffer . so He help him to make Chao life better than before . the watch that was on her mother hand is an evil weapon which her mother was obsessed with time management . Chao Yang never has many perfect life from the murder of 2 tourist and his broken life . his friend also can't visit Chao Yang due her mother possessiveness , Pupu was Chao Yang Love Interest while Yan Liang act as Chao yang brother . Fox Shadows act as his advisor to do against his mother act to break the loop , and maybe he can feel the perfect life of what he wish
