If you're not a cat person, this story might just change your mind. Ron Williams, 84, slipped and fell while getting out of the shower one day. He credits his cat for saving his life. Read more: www.fox17online.com/news/loca...
Thanks for the update. Good to know that Fluffy was there for him all that time. Do you know if Fluffy was rehomed by a friend or family member? I really, really hope and pray so.
@@TheKaidynB thanks for that. I would hope after how much Fluffy meant to Ron that they'd honor his love. Ron had me in tears when he described just how much Fluffy meant to him 💞💕💗
He managed to live an extra year with Fluffy's help. He was able to spend more time with his family, all thanks to a kitten that cared deeply for his owner. I hope the family gives Fluffy all the love he deserves.
@@ryanOGab Can I ask what makes it appear that way? The place looks messy, but it doesn't look necessarily filthy. Plus, hearing from the news anchor it sounded like he was living independently at the time, which a lot of elderly people choose to do even at their own detriment.
@@lobstersonskateboards3988 That place is/ was a death trap for an elderly person. Why has an 84-year-old have an upright shower and doing it alone and has everything possible in his home on the floor where it can obstructuctive his path and trip him. No one in his family checked up on him in 16 hours and none of the house was remodified for him, look at the size of the bathroom he was expected to manoeuvre in and how tiny the shower space is/was. Very sadly am not surprised he died only a year after this.
@@ryanOGab Actually... Yeah, you're right. Not to mention that the time he fell to the time he got the phone, the family definitely would've been awake by then. The fact they never even called him is really suspicious, and now I'm sad. Elder abuse and neglect is sadly very common nowadays. I hope Fluffy made him happy during his last days.
@@lobstersonskateboards3988 when I compare this with how My grandmothers spent both their later years. Yes they lived at their own original family home. but both of them had maids a housekeeper and servants, we always came in and would Vist several times in one day and had tea with both in there gardens. Am pretty sure it got to the point they were sick of seeing us coming. I've never see such destitution and neglect like this.
@@jamez2 thats why i love them. dont get me wrong they loyal af. they love their home and who feeds them but when it comes to intelligence id say they are as about as smart as their instincts take them. in that way incredible. The only animal to jump on a ledge or a fence right against a long drop and just chill. My at will sit on the ledge of my balcony and try to get pet. But they dont understand words or their name you give them. They will not get the memo of places they cant go, but you best bet if they see their owner hurt or dead they get that feeling. like most animals. They can sense your emotion. they can tell something is wrong.
It is a myth that cats are self centred and they show no affection,in contrast they are very independent and intelligent beings. Such a heart warming story, really loved it.
Cats are so smart! My little girl Zoey saved me from a burglar attempting to break into my home. My girl sounded like a lion when she roared...never saw a guy run so fast 🤣 Her and I had a good laugh! I was so proud of her...lots of hugs and treats! Bless your fur baby!
@@geraltofrivia4651 yeah it probably didn't, but it's not a lie that some larger house cats are able to hiss and growl in really intimidating ways if you're a burglar and don't know what's on the other side of the door so it can be enough to make someone reconsider that house specifically.
This man was living by himself, but he was definitely not alone- his wonderful sweet cat, Fluffy, gave him companionship and even saved his life along the way.
"Ron adopted Fuffy from a friend not too long ago" It was probably already named Fluffy, given the wording of this statement and the fact the age it appears to be.
I was in the shower and my cat, Snoop, kept meowing and even got in the shower under the water to try to get my attention, and when I followed him, there was a candle that had ignited on the stove with flames shooting up about 6 feet! Cats do care and will show it when needed.
they also just give you what you give them. so many people are insensitive assholes and they wonder why their pets aren't nice to them. it's almost always the human's fault
An 84 year old man saying his pet cat is his hero had me in tears God Bless our pets and this man for teaching Fluffy what ring-a-ding means.....awesome story!!!
@@Earthboy1999 if you'd actually watched the video, you'd have known that the cat knocked the phone off the counter and his owner was able to reach it to call for help.
It's like that old saying. "I thought I saved my cat's life, but in the end, my cat saved me." Obviously this goes for any pet. In this case, it was very literal.
He didnt really save the cats life. If im not mistaken it was adopted from a friend, so it was probably one of the kittens from that friends cat. So if he hadn't taken fluffy, it would've just gone to another owner.
Same, tears in my eyes while typing this. He was so grateful to Fluffy and just grateful to be alive this is truly beautiful. Much love to you for being someone that can still be moved by beautiful stories like this.
@@Confession68 It doesn't break anything if you don't resist. Some tears feel good to let out. This guy truly loves his companion, and his friend responded by going above and beyond. It's a beautiful moment and I'm glad to have shed tears and be moved by it. Tl;dr Let it flow, these tears will feel good
I don't like people who don't like cats!!. They don't get it. Cats can have extremely sweet feeling hearts. They can be very aware and tuned in. If you do the work to get to know a cat they can really be wonderful. I know for a fact because my cat and I had a wonderful bond
My cat knows when I'm feeling down. I think he notices how little I move, and he definitely notices if I'm sleeping at the wrong times. He squishes himself up next to me and refuses to leave my side even for food. He's the softest thing I've ever felt
@@Jupiter-T I had two cats. One had like a stroke and had to be put down. When I came back from the vet at 3am and was all depressed my other cat came up behind me on the sofa sat way up by my neck and then put his paw on my shoulder much to say "you'll be ok". I lost him last year. I miss him dearly.
@@roquefortfiles Aw, I'm sorry for your loss. He sounds like he was such a sweet boy. It's my cat's birthday today, and he's 8. I think about the fact that he's probably lived half his life now, and I can't stand the idea that I'll lose him someday.
@@Jupiter-T He found me. I wasn't looking for a cat. I had to photograph a house for a movie (I work in film) He was just a kitten at the time and wouldn't leave me alone while i photographed the house. The lady there said.. "He likes you". He was the sweetest little thing. Little pink nose and grey and white. The next week i came back and adopted him. We had an instant connection. I could talk to him and he would understand. I had him 17 years. I miss him so much.
The fact that not only did it go for the cell phone after being asked to.... but brought the cell phone back....and he had only had this cat for a short while...is nothing short of amazing. This cat is still a kitten yet.... not even a full year old. He's really super lucky to have it.
Been rescuing cats for decades.. Not once a cat disturbed any object lol. On the contrary, they gracefully maneuvered around them. That said, Gwen Cooper's (famous writer) blind black cat saved her from rape n possible murder by an intruder. And, my own cat saved me from suicide.
When I was a kid, a coyote wandered to our house and was standing a few feet away as I played in the yard. (A lot of them lived across the street in a huge field.) The coyote and I were staring at eachother when suddenly my cat jumped down from the tree directly between us. She was all fluffed up, back arched, and hissed at the coyote. The coyote got scared off. I always think about that. She was risking her life to save me. It was awesome.
People who say cats only care about their own and that they are assholes, never understood a cat for real. Cats are protectors too, not only dogs. It doesn't matter which being it is, if it loves you, it will protect you, even when facing their own death.
My 19 year old cat has shocked me with her intelligence. I've had dogs before and I kinda gave up because dogs are so loud, obnoxious and destructive. Then I ended up with my girlfriends cat, and everything changed. This cat is incredibly sweet and loving and smart! She has literally prevented harm to me by running up and down my body meowing loudly as I slept in my motorhome while some people were attempting to break in to the RV and woke me up! She also sounds like she answers certain words with meows that sound like she's trying to pronounce certain simple words like 'yeah' 'what'', and a few other one syllable words..her answers even making sense to what I ask her. I've told other cat owners about this and they were like: yeah my older cat can do that too. I love this cat now so dearly and with all my heart and she makes it known she loves me too. It only took two months to truly bond with the cat and the cat with I, now me, my girlfriend and this cat are inseparable. If someone says they hate cats then they've obviously never owned one.
I love both animals I’m never one sided between “cats and dogs” that’s just retarded and every animal is clearly different some dogs are very chill and calm as some cats who’re very energetic but I’m not divided between which one is best I love and appreciate both type of animals
Yes, it is a red flag if someone hates cats. Narcissists prefer dogs since they are blindly "loyal" and don't care for any other animals. You need to earn the trust of cats (and other non-dog pets). I've worked with both and a lot of dog owners (usually pitbull owners) always said how they hated cats and let their dog attack small animals. Horrible people. I love all kinds of animals, big and small and always try to let people know, sometimes, if a dog isn't the best pet for their lifestyle, to give a different animal a chance of a loving home.
Yes they do, when I was a child like about 9 years old a man tried to come in my room through the window. It was night time, I guess trying to kidnap me. My cat screamed so loud and attacked the man trying to come in. I yeld so loud that my dad came to the room. I explained my father what happened and he ran off to look for this man. He had took off quickly on a car parked outside my house. I was so scared and I'm glad I had kitty with me. Animals can become territorial. Don't know what would of happened if kitty wasn't there.
Some cats may be aloof but others are very engaged with their owners and very protective. I had an experience similar to the girl who commented about someone trying to break into her room. One of my cats, at least, will not tolerate someone coming into the house with evil intent. I also recently saw something on the news where a cat attacked an intruder. When the police came the intruder had to be taken to the hospital.
Further, If you have a cat who doesn’t naturally defend his home territory, he can still be used as a weapon. I taught my kids, when they were younger “If anyone should ever try to break in, you pick up one of the cats and throw it at them. The cat will not get hurt but that the intruder will.”
I love this story. It’s true-cats can be just as clever, loyal and loving as dogs or any other pet. Bravo to little Fluffy, and may Mr. Ron rest in peace. ❤
My old black cat saved my husbands life about 7 years ago. He was accidentally overdosing on his medication while I was asleep. My cat uncharacteristically kept nudging me and woke me up. I found him unconscious and struggling to breathe. He almost died that day. I owe his life to my old cat… I miss him so much. Love you Nook!
Cats understand more than we give them credit for. I never tried to teach my cat any commands. When he was 9 years old I got a small dog. I taught the dog to sit, stay, lay down, come etc. I always made the dog sit to get her treat. I would then hand one to the cat as well just to be "fair". One day I decided to ask the cat to "sit" for his treat. It took three requests, but then he did it. He is as reliable with the command as the dog is now. I didn't have to teach it, he just observed the dog.
True. I never teach my cat about potty training, but I just put my kitten in front of my other cat who is using the litter box. I did that for several times, and my kitten do the job right away. They only need to watch to learn
Cats get a reputation of being untrainable because dogs are merely eager to please, the cat needs to get something out of it that it thinks it worth its time and effort. Cats are trainable, they're just not suckers.
@@earlofwickshire5416 never do that to a cat , once a cat gets used to living indoors it's harder for them to survive outside, you seem to think cats are there for your pleasure only and are toys this video shows the cats can be heroic and and your words you treat them as if they were temporary toys or something
For the past hour, I’ve been watching videos of cats saving people and other animals. I need to show these videos to my cat in case I ever need help. My expectations for her have never been higher.
The cat knew it wasn't normal for her pal to stay on the floor or in the bathroom for many hours, so when he wanted her to get the phone she also could tell by his voice that he was in trouble. She wanted to help him, so when he asked her to get the phone she did. I'm glad that her pal had another year with her. According to other commenters, he passed away after that, but his family kept the cat.🤗
Amagine knowing that the very thing that kept you alive to this very day was none other than a cat. You know how much you would value that thing? And not to mention being so thankful and suprised at what just happened at that very moment when it did happen.
My dad is 87 and always hated cats until we adopted our cat, Dennis. Cats are the best! My dad was born on September 6, 1935 so when I heard Ron was also born in September I had to comment.
And this is why, if you are elderly and living alone, you should have a dedicated person call you twice a day to check if you're OK. No answer... wheels get set in motion.
Last year, I fainted in my apartment alone while really ill. My Siberian cat started scream-meowing at the bathroom grate that carries sound to the neighbors below. She sounded so frantic and incessant that it got their attention. I now have 2 Siberian cats and any time they think something is wrong they start scream-meowing
@@kitch3876 Siberian cats are cool, they are part of the Norwegian Forest cat family and seem to be very perceptive cats who are very connected to their owners
Cats are highly emotionally intelligent and compassionate creatures that form wonderful bonds with their humans who love them. They even understand language that they're taught.
@@earlofwickshire5416 It's sort of true, though it may not be this wonderful. My cat is manipulate af and only cuddly in the kitchen by the drawer I keep his food. You know, he'll pretend but after he's done eating we're done with eachother. Also I once faked my own death to see how he would react.. he came up to my face making sure I was dead then went straight to digging up a potted plant
@@solmoman cats can sense whether you're dead or not. So obviously they DON'T react as much when you fake your death. Some cats do, but some cats react when the humans are in the brink of their death.
Fluffy the Supercat!!! Wow what an amazing cat and story!! Cats are super smart and should never be underestimated!! So happy you were alright sir!!! God bless Fluffy!!! Rest in peace Ron! 💐🤗✝️🙏🔥🕊️
im a firm believer in that animals speak to us, just not with words. they can learn to understand you in bits and pieces, learning cue words and routine. the feeling once we learn to understand their unique language it's an instant connection and just so rewarding. those "it's just a cat/dog/ect, get over it" people have never truly experienced a real greater-than-yourself bond like that and it's sad. it really do be a real special thing. 😌
Cats are much smarter than people think. About ten years ago I adopted a tiny kitten from the humane society. I left my two boy cats to watch over her while I was gone because they took to her right away and is still very protective of her to this day. When I came home I was looking everywhere and I couldn't find her. Out of desperation I asked my oldest cat where's the baby help me find her. He looked at me with this bored look, walked from the kitchen through the living room and walked to the plant she was sleeping in, in the dining room. He stood next to the plant and then looked up at me like here she is. Ten years later and it still freeks me out, I had no idea he would understand me.
my people has this exact trick. if you lost your cat, ask your neighbors cats if theyve seen your cat and if they do please tell them to come home. more than often the cats will return.
Similar thing happened to me, but I used to own a barn cat and I know she recently had kittens. One day while I was outside she started calling to me. I remember just following her and everytime I would stop she would look back and wait for me until I started following again. I even recorded her doing this! It was so magical
Similar story here. I have 2 cats, one female one male. The male cat gets crazy with his hormones sometimes and can't help but to pee somewhere in the house. He was outside and my mom smelled the pee. She was looking around, searching for the paddle, and the feline was watching her. She said "don't look at me like this, better show me where Pieszczoch (cat's name, polish) peed" and the cat lead her to where he peed. She got petted thoroughly of course :) she's very smart. He is too, he understands when I tell him to meow for me and other stuff.
One time my cat was bothering me while I was studying for finals. I pointed and told her to go take her aggression out on her scratching post. She left the room and after I finished studying she was sitting by the scratching post, with the most patient look on her face 😭 never again will I underestimate their comprehension!
@@jaxchacky9358 exactly! Imagine you’re walking or sitting in one place and some random stranger just starts touching you, wouldn’t it be uncomfortable? Cats feel the same way if a stranger just starts touching them, touch em if they let you or else back away and try to earn it’s trust.
lol a cat doesnt know what a phone is, he's just lucky it was being a cat and knocking things over playfully. had this man died the cat wouldve ate his face.
Horses too. Dogs, Cats and horses have been together with humans the longest. But there is something about all animals we can learn and most being around us makes us better
Poor guy I actually almost cried when he was telling the story imagine laying on the ground 16 hours, scared, afraid, and waiting for death to come. (Thank lord his cat saved him)
The fact that people like you post “ I almost cried” is pathetic. I bet you did. Or your just soulless and care more about likes. I’m a grown man and I love crying. It’s healthy. Also it gets you laid during movies with chicks.
I just said 'Ring a Ding' to my cat. She looked at me for about 3 seconds and then she started licking her legs. So I guess I'm screwed if I ever fall in the shower.
Bless this man. That must have been a terrible and very scary thing for him to experience. But I'm glad kitty was able to get the phone to him so he could call for help.
Cats are the real W, they deserve more credit and attention than their wolf-evolved counterparts. We all love you Fluffy, you may not be saving the world or anything, but you saved Mr Williams' life and that is all that matters.
When he said, "you're my only hope and followed up with --and he was" got me bawling ... It was not the cat that saved this man...it was the love they shared that saved him... the adorable cat had never left him, he just needed instruction.. ring a ding...
Nobody will ever know just How deeply animals feel and love. So many true incidents of animals who Have used their intelligence to save the lives of their humans including Cow's and horses.
You save an animal and show them love, they will repay you by saving you back. Someone offered me a kitten in 2016 and I was in a very bad place emotionally but decided to at least give this a try. He showed me love and affection when I felt unloved and he showed me that someone needed me. He gave me a reason to try. Without him, I am certain I wouldn't have gotten the help I needed. I didn't have a reason to get up in the morning let alone try to get better emotionally. Then when I came to see the kitten (he was feral at the time) he jumped onto my shoulder. He never did that with anyone else. Just me. And I fell in love. From then on, he was my reason to try. I couldn't stay at home when there was no food. I couldn't put it off until tomorrow. I had to get up and feed him every day. I had to have food for him. Check his water, make sure his health was okay. Before that cat, I felt so alone and helpless. And because he showed me the love I needed, I was able to do so much better. When I moved into this apartment last year, I dedicated a closet to being the cat's room. He has his own small room now. He deserves it for how he impacted my life.
Its the model for all relationships.you can be completely different, not speak even remotely the same language, but with love anything is possible. Sure we save them, but they really save us.😀😸🐶
