A few years ago I befriended a stray cat, and one day I came home to find her waiting inside my house for me. Nobody let her in, she let herself in, coming in through the vents. I was amazed at her resourcefulness, and she's been my part-time roommate ever since. Idk where she originally came from, or what happened to her, but she has remained skiddish for the 5 years I've known her, wincing away any time I try to pet her, and generally just does her own thing. She's a good cat though, and I'm glad she was able to find me in her travels, rather than someone who might not have been so welcoming, or as cat friendly as I am.
I have one too! I named him Sylvester he only really comes when he is hungry. He usually just eats and naps in the laundry room then takes off. Sometimes he comes back so dirty after about 10 days later other times he stays every night for a week. I care for him 😊
I love that the neighborhood has embraced their resident cat burglar and had fun with the situation to the benefit of people in need. This is the kind of positivity we need right now.
@@thatdude3977, so you don’t think people need bright spots of positivity? You do know that constant negativity and stress literally can people, right? Geez, this was a 3-4 minute human interest, upbeat story. Go pee in someone else’s cereal.

@@aliamjon2550 not a slur or anti white is just a stereotype/slang that can be applied to all races and ethnicities. Slurs are “linguistic expressions that are primarily used to derogate certain group members for their descriptive PHYSICAL attributes” whilst a stereotype (negative/positive) is a “widely spread idea of a certain group, which might be correct but vastly over emphasised”. Big difference, but if it makes you feel better I’m biracial/mixed and a woman (if you want to call me a sexist as well as a racist, which, I’m not either one) “Karen” is not just a slang coming after white woman, it’s not targeting someone’s physique/race or looks, but rather THEIR ACTIONS. It’s used against entitled/ opinionated women who are in the wrong but keep insisting they’re right on false bases and other actions. The fact that majority of them are Caucasian/white women (around the world) who act this way is just a mere stereotype, that you’re imposing on my post as well. Well, aren’t we all full of stereotypes? 🤔 I’m not here for the oppressive olympics, but if you want to play then sure I’m down 🫡
@@Patricialovesmusic1 LMAO, you can back pedel you try to rewrite what a "Karen" is, all you're doing looking foolish, Every single person knows when someone is called a "Karen" they mean White women, Nobody is looking for a black woman when the slur "Karen" is mentioned, just like when you wrote "Karen" every knew you meant White women, Also, not many black, Asian or Arab women in that neighborhood in this news clip, so I don't no why you'd mean any race except White women

Good neighbors . Thank You for turning this into a way to help shelters . In a way the cat is a hero to inspire his neighborhood family to turn his antics into a good cause . ❤
My cat wasn't into fabric, it was trash and large leaves. Living in a rural area, she regularly brought us beer cans, chip bags, egg cartons and any large and unusual leaf she could find. We would often hear her alerting us that she was on her way down the driveway with her gifts for us. We always praised her for her kindness. I miss her dearly. Rest in peace Tiny Tot.
@@DannyGruesome my cat doesn't steal but she is aggressive towards strangers. She's an awesome guard dog. She listen by the door or windows and growl like a demon. I know she'd tear someone apart if she had to.
My Mom and I had a cat who was obsessed with fabric. My Mom's a quilter and has rooms full of bins of fabric. We kept finding piles of fabric pieces, some of them pretty large, all over the house. We finally caught him doing it. He'd sit in the bin, carefully using his paws to browse through the fabric, picking out specific pieces and setting them aside. Then he'd carry each piece to a pile in another room. My Mom sewed him a quilt out of the pieces he picked. He was such a special, affectionate cat.
Awwwww, I am smiling so huge right now, and after the day at work I had, I really needed that!!! Thank you!!!!!!! So cool, she made him a quilt out of his fav pieces....she is awesome!!!
My daughter's cat does something similar... He has a favorite stuffed animal raccoon, almost as big as he is, that he will carry in his mouth into whatever room you're in. He comes into the room somehow meowing loudly with the raccoon still in his mouth, as if to say "Look what I caught", as if proud of his amazing hunting skills. He will then drop it at your feet and meow a few more times to make sure you noticed. We think he does it when he wants some attention. 😸
Friends of mine had a cat that mostly stole food. One day, while I was there, he came in with a pork chop. His attempts to get in through the cat-flap with this giant slab of pig is what drew our attention. The thing is, it was grilled on one side. How he got it we never knew, but I visualised someone turning around in their kitchen and being totally baffled. My friend finished grilling it and fed him the evidence, making us all accessories. They'll never take me alive!
@@RealMoonmen sure, but I wouldn't know something happened to him living in a neighborhood. He's the sweetest male cat I ever had. Huge with beautiful coat.
The family of this cat took it a step farther they turned one of their walls inside into a memorial for their cat anything he brings home they put it on the wall and people come from all over the world just to marvel at it. One of the owners said the amount of stuff he brings home is unbelievable because their entire hallway wall is covered with it and he jokingly said they were going to start giving the cat a curfew to ensure he doesn’t bring any more stuff home because they are running out of places to put it
Cats! Our cat, Ramone, is deceased now but we, and our neighbours, got to enjoy his shenanigans for 15 years. He was the biggest sweetheart ever. Always had to visit with everyone, greet them with a friendly hello. He'd jump in your vehicle just to tease. He somehow felt entitled to enter our neighbour's homes and they let him! He liked eating flowers....all of us had half eaten flower beds. If someone had a garage sale he'd hang around, walking on the tables, getting pets from people coming and going. It still amazes us how awesome our neighbours were with him. He obviously stole their hearts like he'd stolen ours. A new family bought the house directly across from us just recently. They have 2 cats and I sure enjoy watching those cats wander around.
@wifemotherconservative3432, I had a kitty for 16 years and he looked very similar to the void kitty that is in the thumbnail of this story. Fortunately, mine had the common sense to NOT be a thieving kleptomaniac, though. I miss my Star cat like you miss your Ramone kitty.
She’s lucky that her neighbors are understanding and find it amusing. All it takes is for one person to find it annoying and that cat can end up dead. Big risk I hope he stays OK
Same. Because we're in the city I keep my cat indoors, even though he'd love to be outside all the time. (If I ever get the money together I'll make a catio for him, though.)
Or the owner could end up with a hefty fine. It’s illegal in the state of Texas (I *think* it’s state law) for cats to be outside off-leash. I know for sure in Dallas you can be fined.
A cat befriended me randomly and visited my home in fact she knocked on the door to get in. Once she is in she started going to all corners and sniffing eventually settled in my lap. Didn’t stay though. But every morning randomly 4am it will reach out to me from nowhere. One day I was walking outside I felt like someone is watching me.. and when I looked this cat was watching me from few feet away. It was like she wanted me to go to her. I felt a strange connection with the car and when I went near to the cat it immediately started showing all the love and sat in my lap!! This cat is scared of everyone not me because when it sees other humans it runs away! I always tell her next life you will be a human and we will buddies again
My late kitty was like this. He was indoor-only, so he stole from my roommate. He loved DVD's, scissors, bottles of acrylic paint, receipts, books. He would drag them to my room, yowling, and then sit amongst his bounty all proud of himself. It was so funny.
our yorkie did this too she woild find a bra or panties and bring them to us in the morning she also found a rock outside bought it in and gsve it yo me as a present
@@sharmanklinefelter508My family had a pitbull that always would drag out my mom's underwear to the living room, lol. Has plenty of access to the rest of the family's clothes, but no, he only wanted her stuff 😂 Things got both frustrating and hilarious when he began to knock over the trash. We would come home from school and see it knocked over and the dog would be cowering in the hallway. One of us would yell "Scooby!" and he was GONE! You could hear his paws as he scrambled down the hallway 😂. We ended up having to place the trash in odd places like on the counter. This was before the days if wireless cameras where you could peek in and speak to your pets on your phone (the iPhone didn't even exist yet, which was from 2007). I miss that dog, he truly had the most unique personality of any pet we'd owned.
So you’re telling me this family has a reason outside of the typical reasons to keep their cat inside, yet they still don’t? This isn’t cute. It’s irresponsible.
He’s a lost cause 😂 Absolutely shameless and not remorseful in any way shape or form 🤣 The owner and neighbors are awesome for being very understanding. 🎉
Cleo's OCD has been met with a positive reaction by the community by helping to fund the local animal shelter. We need more cat burglars out there like Cleo. Way to go! 👍❤
OMG 😱 My blessed deceased cat Ebenezer; yes he acted exactly as his name implies, lives again. When Cleo hissed and opened his mouth I saw the same black splotch, size, design etc on top as Ebie. I know it’s probably a coincidence but it sure is fun to think about and play with him. I love you, Ebeneezer and thank you for being a great cat. I love you. 2008-2022
Years ago, my mom's neighbor asked if she had a little black cat. Yes, she did. Why? "Because she climbs our screen door in order to peak into our living room." My mom was horrified that her cat had damaged the screen door. The neighbor said, "Oh, please don't worry about it. We love seeing her little face peaking in at us!" Nice neighbors.
He is amazing. He is not stealing but bringing gifts for his family because he loves them. Please be kind to him and do not punish him for being such a good cat!
That’s honestly a really great neighbourhood for everyone to be so cool about their stuff being stolen. Meanwhile other areas get into vicious and occasionally violent squabbles over tree branches sticking over their fences
Indeed. In our family home of over 50 years, we have very large beautiful maple trees near a fence that separates the adjoining property and had never been an issue before a new owner of that property moved in. Some branches up 20 feet or so start to cross the property line so the owner of that property started leaving notes on my Mom's door (in her 80s) saying either she get any branches cut off that extend over her property line, or she would take my Mom to small claims court. That was the way she greeted my Mom, with a note and a threat just a few weeks after moving into the neighborhood. The trees if anything add beauty and value to her property as they provide a large amount of shade especially in the summer and her house sits far away from what is the back of her property, so there is no practical nuisance other than what she has conjured up in her mind. My Mom has always in the fall paid yard workers to to rake and bag the leaves from that adjoining property, which she offered to this new owner. My Mom had the tree trimmers do their thing, so once beautifully shaped Maple trees now have 2/3 their original form. No doubt the "Karen" goes out frequently to catch any branch trespassing.
I realize this video is supposed to be a cute story. But to me this is just an irresponsible cat owner. I have a neighbor who lets their cat out every day. The cat comes over to our windows and back doors and starts fights with our cats through the screens. I never understand why when people know their cats are causing a problem in the neighborhood, why don't they just keep him inside the house or inside a fenced yard at least? I would never allow my cats outside because I know there are predators, both animal and human, that could hurt my pets. In addition there are fleas and ticks, diseases, cars zooming by, etc.
@@flickwtchr did you consult a lawyer? At least in Canada (which is very similar in law to the USA where I assume you're from), would have laughed her out of court for any nuisance claim. Additionally, I know that in the USA, trees are judicially quantified at exorbitant rates. Like, the court would have considered a 50-yr-old tree to be worth 10s of k.
she might have succeeded in trespass, but at least in Canada, any good lawyer would have gotten you an equitable remedy. (I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.)
A cat I essentially grew up with used to steal socks from our drawers when he was alone to suckle on. Separation anxiety, I guess? One evening, the entire family was out for several hours. Came home to 72 dampened socks strewn around the house. It's 20+ years later, and I'll never forget the total.
Little fella is just working to provide for his family. He sees momma is cold so he brings her towels and shapewear from around the block to warm her up. What a considerate little guy.
I have a cat that won't stop pushing the button on my primo water dispensar. I kept thinking it was leaking and she was on top pushing it and watching the water fill up the trough and then gets her a drink. I ended up putting a movable cap on it. Just an example that cats are not dumb. They are smarter than we think
Our Peanut insists on fresh water (although it's tap, it's OK) IN the house, but on the patio? Rainwater from the basketball goal until it's gone, rainwater from a downspout puddle until it's gone, you get the idea. And sometimes the rainwater can last a couple of days before it's gone, but it's her preference. Cats. Love 'em but don't understand them.
oh my no way would I allow that.. Do you realize all the pollutants in our atmosphere raining down into that barrel? And how fresh is it ? Do you sanitize and clean it daily from the fungus and such builds up? I guess Im very picky cat mom but mine get filtered or purified water.. No human climate change pollution@@patsyk.1563
No, they are bejng "jerks" to the owner. Sadly this is why we have so many criminal kids when parents treat it like its just cat shenannigans and do not police what their kids do until they are in prison for murder.
@@UpcomingJedi You're taking this much too seriously. It is clearly not a big issue for the residents, if only a little annoying. Cats do not understand that this is wrong. This is the same behaviour a cat makes when it brings back a bird or a mouse to "contribute", it's intentions are pure. When we leave the house for work the cat just thinks we're out hunting and bringing back food for ourselves and them. Of course, if you're talking larger animals like dogs, then yes, this behaviour should be reined in, but we allow this behaviour because they're too small to cause any real harm and we like them hunting pests.
@@Ateezwooyounghmm. I have had an outside cat for about 3 years now. Just showed up here one day. We feed her 3 times a day & build shelters for her outside. She even gets a heating pad under the blanket inside her shelter in the winter time. She comes to see me every time I go outside pretty much & I always bring her treats. Have gotten her inside about 3 times now. But every single time, she cries & cries & cries, hides, doesn't eat. Then as soon as we let her outside to the backyard which is fenced in with a cat fence, she climbs the fence & gets out again. I just worry a lot about her being outside. I used to love the rain & also cold weather but now I feel like I can't even enjoy it anymore because I'm worried about the outside cats being uncomfortable (we have another one too but he is feral & won't let us anywhere near) but yeah, I think you are right.
My parents had a big male part Siamese cat ( mostly feral ) years ago, this cat delivered dead creatures to the front and back doors of their home to prove his worth for close to a decade. Bunnies, birds, rodents, squirrels and best of all snakes of all kinds ( even small timber rattler's now and then, ) that worried mom and dad for years. This cat finally decided to make keeping the inside of the house safe from all evil. For his last several years the king was in the house, yet hunted constantly in every room in the house just daring any creature to invade his new kingdom. When his time came we gave him the celebration this battle scared warrior of daring, renown and undefeated in battle deserved. Mom and dad were always happy that the king picked them, to guard and protect from all evil doers that came near their yard and home.
That's a sad and disgusting comment. I will understand why everyone thinks dead animals are entertaining and that hurting them is ok as long as their dead body tastes good.
A neighbor’s cat “adopted” us. It was a black cat similar to this one. It would come into our place via the doggie door and ask to be fed. Turns out the neighbors didn’t want him anymore but since my house mate and I were both allergic, we decided to rehome him. After he moved away we’d FaceTime and he recognized us and our voices. He’s currently living in upstate New York on a few acres of land. 🐈⬛
I’m not really a cat person. I’ve never owned one and have always had dogs in my family. After this story, I’m considering going to the shelter nearby and adopting one. EDIT: I ADOPTED A CAT! READ MY COMMENT IN THE FEED! TY EVERYONE!
@Pnabjlqwfvyzb, please get a kitty like the one that is in this video, as they tend to not only be the ones that are the most overlooked, but also the sweetest ones as well. However, you have to be careful around Halloween, as a lot of sickos will try to murder them for sick and sadistic pleasures, and/or for Satanic rituals, so keep them inside during that time of the year.
I have never regretted adopting my psycho kitties, demon spawns, quirkier than all get out cats. I have a tendency to walk into a shelter and come out with a cat that most people won’t give a chance. I had a black cat who had been abused probably from kitten to one year. I had a grey one who had been in a shelter for weeks. Be forewarned that a shelter cat might need a lot of patience but when they learn to trust you, the love you receive will be worth it.
