I got this for Christmas! You have to let it rise and bake ears down so that the weight of the rising bread fills it in. Mine also leaked a bit (although I did open it after rising + it leaked less than yours) and I filled it about a third of the way. Maybe that point of reference will help for your next loaf?

you should do a series where you make a sourdough starter and make stuff with it every day in a month!! There are so many things you can make, regular bread, focaccia, cinnamon rolls, crackers, pancakes, etc it’s so great and makes everything significantly healthier and delicious 😋

I was doing my usual routine of watching Jeanelleats to help me sleep and that "NO" nearly yeeted my soul out of my body 😅 Could you not leave it to rest with the ears facing down (maybe cover up the holes while it rests) That way the dough could reach all the nooks and crannies.

This reminds me of the first time I tried to bake a cake in my toaster oven and overfilled the little pan. I wound up with no cake and scrubbing burned and raw batter out of my toaster oven for an hour, BUT I learned and ended up making my first layer cake because of how I had to adapt.

Pan is supposed to be down in the oven hun hence the lettering on it the way it is. Looks upside down with the ears up so naturally when the ears are down the lettering is right up. It was done like that on purpose so you know which way it's suppose to go in the oven. Hope that helps 🥰🥰🥰
