You're an amazing man taking her in, I'm so glad your daughter found her. Your love for Hazel is beautiful and yes she is your daughter. God bless you both.❤
To put it simply, you, sir, are nothing short of amazing! Your kindness and perseverance to saving this adorable little squirrel? A true hero. Good on your daughter, too, for saving her.❤❤❤
This is such a lovely comment, absolutely! What a kind and caring bloke and he's obviously passed it on to his daughter, who couldn't forget the little baby squirrel in need of help. What happened to Hazel's neurological issues, though? She seems bright, extremely physically coordinated. Hopefully she just grew out of them.
Squirrels 🐿 are such amazing beautiful and extremely intelligent little fur babies. I myself have a squirrel 🐿 or we could say (she has me) 😂 My son rescued her too as a tiny baby because her mother didn’t want her, so we took care of her thinking 🤔 okay once she is old enough to survive on her own, that we would release her back into nature, well boy we’re we wrong. She decided many times that she wanted to stay, so today my chunky squirrel girl will be turning 5 years old and she’s absolutely amazing 😉
Likely to dissuade people from taking in wild animals wanting a pet. Only people licensed to care for such creatures should regularly be doing so. The fact that the license didn't include courses on how to do that job or proper resources to learn it defeats the whole point though, IMO.
Almost everyone feels that way about their fur babies, they become part of the family. Most importantly you are her guardian, watching over this innocent soul to make sure she is loved for all her days, it's a good thing!💕👍
What a compassionate, gentle man this dad is! I hope his daughter carries these traits with her throughout her life. Thank you for saving Hazel and giving her a loving home. ❤
When I was about 10 years old I found a new born squirrel on our front porch. I took it to my mother and she raised it. Sha was absolutely awesome. Mother taught her several tricks over the years. Back then there were no laws about keeping wild life s pets but I'm sure if it were today she would not have been deemed releasable. The whole family had an awesome relationship with Max and we all loved spending time with her, playing, cuddling, watching tv, napping etc. She was a gift and I'm glad I found her that day.
"I feel way more that it's a daughter and a father." Awwwwwww, I loved this sooooooo much!!!! Such a good soul. Thank you guys for rescuing her and adopting her into your family. ❤
It really saddens me how so many people don’t respect nor value all animals lives, because to just kill a innocent baby that was abandoned by its mother, is just disgusting and heartbreaking. Thank you so very much for saving that precious life!! ❤
I fear, this has nothing to do with not respecting life. But most people (me included) have no idea, how to care for a baby squirrel. And mistakes in care for very young animals mostly result in very painful death for the animal. And because the vet cannot know wether the individual is really into saving the baby animal or would lose interest after one or two sleepless nights, they try to prevent suffering by euthanizing the baby.
Whoever told her "we don't have space and we can't give you advice because you're not licensed so the animal should be put down" should never hold a job again.
It's all legalese, CYA stuff, probably. Maybe the law prevents them from giving advice to unlicensed rescuers? You, me, and the 25 upvoters have no clue if constraints were in place over the vets decisions. Should learn about the laws in place first before calling for someone to be fired from every job in existence, which is fairly asinine anyway on principle.
Oftentimes, animal-lovers are v upset/sad when rescuers seek help from rehabbers n vets, only to be shoo off with COLD responses, euthanasia being the most common shoo-off statement. So, in order for such people to NOT cause others to "misunderstand" their "plight" which leads to tension in the community of animal-respecting n -loving people, the former should explain themselves, and maybe even offer some SOUND and HELPFUL advice to the rescuers in general, rather than to just keep mute about their valid "constraints" (ie. if they honestly DO have). I believe with effective communication, people will understand every situation much better, and hopefully, issues may be more effectively resolved as a result.
@@spencergwin9454with respect that's nonsense. Laws and restrictions should never get in the way of basic compassion. The moment it does than whatever excuses you make for doing it go down the toilet
The sweetness between these two is truly inspiring. She actually leaned into his kiss at the end of the video. She loves him as much as he loves her. What a beautiful bond.
Hazel is a companion and a fuzzy friend, and like the dad said, not a pet. He's truly a hero for going the extra mile and getting that license just to make sure Hazel got the care she needed 💜 She's a beautiful fur baby 🥹
This level of care - physical, emotional, spiritual - _IS_ parental! This man sacrificed everything to save the life of this orphaned creature ☮️ Beautiful
What an incredible human being!! To go through so much, out of the purest kindness of heart, is amazing. And his story is not for his own credit but to show this precious creature’s ability to thrive in the right environment 🥰❤️
How precious she is. She came to the perfect family to help, love and understand her. She knows what a great dad she has. And he clearly knows how very special she is.
Wow, that's dedication and love. Your daughter bringing the baby squirrel home and you accepting the baby is the most loving thing. Many blessings to you and your family. Hazel is right where she belongs.🫶🫶
🐿️🍼🙏💚🐾A true fairy tale! Bless you for being a wonderful Dad squirrel and Hazel for being a gorgeous squirrel daughter🐿️💚❤️💯🐾🙏🐾💚🐿️💯P. S. I suggest you watch the movie "Sword in the Stone" from Disney you will fall in love again with a squirrel... Bless your hearts ❤🐿️💚🐾🙏
You are her DAD. Most people have no clue how hard it is to re-hab a squirrel. Most of the newborns that are abandoned don’t survive with humans. You did an amazing job with her. It’s very disheartening to hear that no one would help you when you needed it. Hopefully if anyone ever finds themselves in the same position they would be able to call you and get some guidance.
The world needs more people like you who truly appreciate how lucky we are to have these animals in our lives and we are the ones who are blessed but everything you did for her is amazing and just want to thank you x
So many things to love: your daughter's compassion, your immediate attempts to find help, your rejection of the lame "help" you received, your dedication to fight for that little life, your commitment for the long haul (rehab school!!!), your willingness to revamp parts of your life for Hazel's needs, and the deep, pure love that you have wrapped around Hazel from day one.
Thank you for caring for this beautiful animal. They’re both smart and loving. Thank you for not promoting them as pets. But there are other animals that can be domesticated. You’re my favorite type of people: KIND!
You have given so much to Hazel. Not only her life, but YOUR heart. What a blessing you have been to her. May God bless you for your amazing love for Hazel.
Thank you to you and your daughter for rescuing his sweet, innocent little soul. Hazel is absolutely adorable and she is so lucky to have you as her fur papa. Bless you for what you are doing for this little squirrel. The world needs more good, kind people like you. 🙏♥
What’s sad is that none of these “animal lovers” would help him until he got a piece of paper saying he and Hazel were worthy of their help. Thankfully he didn’t give up on Hazel because of the lack of compassion from the animal community.
You made me cry 😢what a heartless beautiful man you are and the beauty you have shown your daughter !! Thank you 🙏 I’m sure you won’t have the time to read this but GOD BLESS YOU YOUR DAUGHTER AND OF COURSE SWEET HAZEL THANK U SOOO MUCH ❤
So often I hear people are refused help because they're not licensed, and now we find out that you can get licensed without being particularly knowledgeable. So what's the point, other than to collect a fee? Seems to me the animals would be more likely to get help without the licensing system.
It’s a money racket. Kinda like the AKC “certified” breeder scheme. Complete money grab supposedly overseen by the USDA but only in a ‘wink wink nudge nudge’ way.
The training for rehab is generalized because there are so many species. We are taught dos and donts, general understanding of how to deal with injuries, how to medicate based off illness, and other things like the timelines on how to release. Most of the knowledge needed for each species is learned through experience at rescue centers. What I needed was all info on long term squirrel care specifically and there's no course on that. To teach in all species individually would be impossible. I hope this clears things up a bit for you 🥰
Probably the best squirrel video I've ever seen. It has brought tears to my eyes, and continuously smiling in adoration. No doubt anyone watching this would have deep love inspired within them. Much needed and welcome now more than ever, as we melt our cold hearts in the infinite ocean of the love we are.
