We had a fire alarm in my apartment building I ran from my cousin's apartment which is the fourth floor to the other side of the building to make sure my hamsters and my guniea pig were okay. My mom was pissed. I told her you can save yourself, they're babies and are completely helpless. Then she asked who would I save her or my guinea rats as she calls them. I told her I love her. She's still using that one against me. 🤣🤣🤣

I read someplace that a cat forms a strong bond like this with only one person. That they can like other members of the household, but only share that tight bond with one person.

@@zukini8763 It is true I think. Cats are mysterious creatures and it depends with whom they click. If someone pets them exactly how they want or they feel cosy to sit around you they are mates for life. But I think in every animal if you give them love they will love you back no doubt. Dave here has a soft spot for this girl's boyfriend though.

For real though. At some point they're going to break up. And you know she won't let him see that cat anymore. It's really really really really really sad for the CAT

I have a gorgeous ragdoll girl named Pinky! She was the only one born out of three with a pink nose, so of course Pinky aka Pink-Pink 😂. She just turned 6 years old on October 18th and since the day she left her mom to explore us, she chose my husband as her hooman. I love her so much and she does love on me from time to time when he’s not in the room. But the moment he walks thru the door she’s all his 😢 lol.

You just reminded me of something similar... My fiance and I had rescued a cat off the street. He was pretty aggressive, and when he wasn't hitting or biting someone, he would just be curled up on the bed snoring loudly like he owned the place. One day my fiance and I were watching TV in the bedroom with the cat curled up at the end of the bed snoring loudly. Suddenly I realized he wasn't snoring anymore. His body also wasn't moving at all. I freaked out! Luckily, my fiance jumped into action. He tried to wake the cat up but he was limp. So my fiance started breathing into his snout like idk maybe he thought that's how CPR is done, but miraculously the cat came back to us! My fiance literally breathed life back into him. Ever since that day they were inseparable. His whole personality changed when he was resuscitated. The cat became my fiance's shadow and followed him everywhere, nuzzling and cuddling with him every chance he got.

Meanwhile my ex said the same thing about her families pet dog and other men except myself, whilst he immediately came up to me and wanted me to pet him (even tho I honestly do not even really like those small handbag dogs with obnoxiously high-pitched voices very much). Queue a few months of „I love you more than anyone“s and „I am certain about this long-term relationship just like you“s and she decides that „she just can’t imagine us spending time together without having s**“ and I should just „compare our relationship to an expired phone contract“ No wonder my cats were not showing interest in her at all.

Being chosen by a cat is a great honor.

@@kristofnagy1373It definitely helps that Jackson was there when Dave was born. Dave almost died and was saved and probably closely associated the smell of Jackson with his mothers and of safety. I cant imagine being there for their birth is required, but I cant imagine getting this compatibility by just picking cats at random.

@@mayonnaise9993 Yes, I agree. Maybe adopting a cat at shelter based on which one is the friendliest using smell. There are many stories about a cat adopting a human and having a very deep relationship, I assumed that they are based on smell.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Any pet parent who's been through it knows your pain. I've been through it a number of times, so I am sending you and your partner all my love and best wishes. Getting two cats might be a good idea, especially if you get kittens. Let them select you, so you have one each! They'll also be able to keep themselves occupied (you only need to worry when they're abnormally silent ;)). Whatever you choose, whenever you choose to do it, I truly hope you find as much love as you had before x

A year and a half of hissing, that's not fair at all and it has nothing to do with you and likely more with their environment. That's why I'm not a cat guy, they're just too flighty and seem to acknowledge you only when the can opener starts whirring. Visit an animal shelter and allow your next pet to pick YOU. If you really want a cat that's fine but maybe go for a little doggie this go around. They're mans best friend and they're loyal and awesome, good luck.

When you have that many cat siblings the receive a lot of cuddles and affection from each other, so you might not be that welcome. How was their Mother? Affectionate or on the wilder Side? If I isn't the environment, it might be that they need som extra socializing. I'd suggest raining them to accept food from your hand and work up to petting them while they are eating. It might take some time though. For my shelter cat it took about two years, but now he even sleeps in the bed.

Don’t take it personally, they will warm up to you.

​​@@wendytestaburger8321That's not entirely true. At my grandparent's normally grandma feeds the cat but he always comes to me anyways. He's even sleeping here right now in my bed. On a less emotional note, I think cats should too be able to evolve trust since it would benefit them for survival and if you're a christian, then why would god create such cute creatures just to be assholes? (that would just be sadistic.)
