That is a young Kestrel. The tail feathers are not even fully grown out. But she needs to be careful as the cat got baffled by the first attack but may try again. The young bird can fly but not yet with great skill. The falcon really does show great courage and a daunting spirit for being so small.
The falcon is smarter than most of the commentators here. It stood its ground and faced the cat to defend itself against further attack. If it turned and tried to fly away it would present its vulnerable flank and the cat would instantly pounce.
Or it would fly away because it has fucking wings and cats can't fly? If you read the link just above yours you'd see the photos of the bird from after the video and the bird has something wrong with it. That cat let it go for some reason. That should have been a free lunch.
The cat probably thought that it was a big pigeon! It looked surprised that this bird turned on him. What a tough bird! He just fluffed his feathers and stared the cat down!
Bored Bored obviously a tiger or lion kill a bird even if they are eagles or falcon, but in the prehistory they were most biggest and stronger birds than could kill a tiger.

The cat wanted to catch and kill the falcon, but if you look closely, the falcon was able to get its talons on the cat's nose causing the cat to recoil. The film ended too soon to see what happened next. This leaves us to speculate......
I looked closely at .25x and I didn't see that. Cats are known to play with their prey, might be what it was doing. A cat is so fast it can swat down a snake charging at it, if it wanted it could have pulled out its claws and swat the bird before the bird had even realized the cat was moving.
@@Ryan-hi6zg Its true though they think everything is "prey" domestic cats can't tell what is predator or prey until the animal snaps at their ass back for stalking it, that's what happens everytime with hawks and eagles even snakes.
Or a peregrine Falcon which would dive at that cat's face and also very territorial. A feral cat is only like 3.9 kg a peregrine Falcon have fought something larger like eagles and Hawks.

The falcon is actually a recently fledged youngster,it dosent have the full range of flight just yet,it should have been up in the trees still.yes the cat could/would make a meal of it at about 120gms its not exactly a versus or fight.Its talons cant inflict much damage ,however ive seen a large domestic cat about to put the death bite on a Kestrel(which is what this lil guy is) back off screaming with neat triangular piece taken out of its nose,blood streaming.only the Kestrels pride ruffled some.

swordfish1986 He is not lying, those who have had experience with both creatures know that a falcons talons is much more harmful than a cats claws. A cats reflexes are really amazing, but falcons are almost on par and are more accurate in general.

Personally I think the falcon was lucky and I hope took off after the film. It looked like reinforcement was showing up. I don't think it would have been as lucky with two kitties after it.
Nah that's just a young falcon try putting a adult female against the two kitties it's not gonna end well their talons are too deadly to begin with its enough to crack a neck bone.

Looked like a peregrine falcon that was scared but stood up.Cat wS stunned too,but i guess it was playing.Cats definitely cannot win over eagles ,hawks or vultures but smaller raptors like perg falcons, may get killed.
Cats have one of the fastest reflexes and quick speed in the animal kingdom. Don't let the size and cuteness fool you..... So Even if that Falcon flies away, the cat will most likely catch it.
Nah the kestrel would've killed the cat easy if it was an adult, raptors don't take shit they have talons that's a ton more painful than a cat's claws.
