For me it wouldn't how fast i can download off of the internet itself, at some point your service provider will bottleneck you. For me i would like to see peer to peer transfers, such as xbox to xbox storage over the network, maybe a media server with home brew videos. Going from a standard cat5 to a high quality cat5e rated for 350mhz 4PR24 i gained 60MB/s transfer speeds over my home network.

Thanks for your question. I unfortunately do not have access to a 40 Gig network for testing. Right now 40 Gig networks are only used in large datacenter environments. I am not surprised by your results at all but I honestly do not understand what you were trying to prove with this test?? Unless you had a 40G uplink of sorts, that would have been one thing, but a 1 gig, of course each cable is going to test the same. What you can test is speeds within your LAN, create a 40G backbone if you can and test between services and servers, etc., but again, can the device do more then 1 gig.. so many ways to look at this.

@TurboSpeedWiFi 2 года назад
True. This is the video that my subscribers were asking for and hence why I made it. The results would have been the same anyways. Any Cat 5e or greater cable would max out the gigabit ethernet port on the computers. Cat 6 will easily do up to 10 gig speeds for runs that are not overly long. Cat 6a will do up to 328 feet at 10 gig speeds. Cat 7 and Cat 8 cables are really only useful in data center environments. Most of the no name brand "Cat 8" cables sold on websites such as Amazon are not really Cat 8 anyways. Many of these cables don't even properly meet the Cat 6 spec.
