I'm using the Tourney Balance mod which makes a few adjustments to weapons and heroes in the game. The one-handed sword in this mod is quite capable of dealing some solid dps, assuming you have a good headshot rate. Crowd control is nice with the attack pattern it has since there are a few horizontal and diagonal swipes. The 4th light attack can break shields, so that's a bit of a bonus too. All of that combined with its more than reasonable mobility, makes the one handed sword a very solid option at the moment.

Glad you're enjoying the videos! I've been intentionally avoiding using characters with stealth for a while since I feel like the implementation of that mechanic isn't well suited to solo content. It opens up a lot of ways to manipulate the AI that otherwise wouldn't be possible with other players alive on the team (it basically turns the AI off for the duration of stealth). I only bring this up because I attempt true solos to improve my mechanics and map knowledge, and I feel like using stealth heroes means I won't get as much out of the experience compared to if I played a different character. That being said... I'm not completely against the idea, and I do enjoy playing Shade quite a bit, so there's a good chance I'll get around to it at some point after I complete runs on other heroes first. My current plan for my next true solo is Grail Knight on Festering Ground, but I'm not sure when I'll be getting around to that with Darktide just around the corner.

They had it free for a couple of days and according to them 10mil new players joined so yeah game is still alive lol

I checked the Steam charts and low and behold it reached its all time peak players when it was released for free, that and a lot of people are playing it now. Will it last? Who knows. For me though this game is an absolute treat and the characters make it so much better

Pretty sure it's because of beastmen. Hordes are much smaller for them to compensate for their higher unit mass and health compared to Skaven and Chaos. On top of that the special cap is 4 instead of 5 in beastmen areas on Cataclysm. It's definitely on Cataclysm Deathwish though, and that's obvious because of enemy health and stagger values, as well as the special spawn frequency and cap. If you need more proof here's the first 40 seconds of the video that I cut out because it was just me in the portal starting the map. On lower POV it's not as noticeable. But yea with streaming in high POV some of the shots look like a wiff.

Tourney mod is on, so it's not like console cata hard🧐

@@aversivezenith5253 i noticed within the first three minutes of the video. Good plays and well placed shots. But it looks as if its on legend difficulty.

It is Cataclysm. The 1h Sword has good damage if you have a high headshot rate, which mine was sitting around 40-50% when the map ended.

It says Cataclysm at the top right of the screen when I'm entering the portal. You can also tell it's Cataclysm in the run because of the special cap. The cap is 4 in some situations, usually when beastmen are around. Otherwise the cap is 5 in skaven/chaos areas. Legend works the same way but just drop that special cap by 1 in both scenarios (so 3 with beastmen, 4 with skaven/chaos). You can tell it's Deathwish because of the stagger resistances of enemies being quite high.
