Thank you! Because of your video, I had a phenomenal time with my girlfriend. I recently went to Catalina on 08/11/2020, so this will be a Covid 19 update. I visited Maggie's Blue Rose which had amazing food and the specials cost about $25 a piece but absolutely worth it. Margaritas were $10 a piece. Scoops was an even $10 for two cups of ice cream. The energy of Catalina is pleasant and not overly crowded. I definitely suggest visiting the museums unless you want a relaxing beach experience instead. You can have both of course lol This is a great and romantic day trip. I went from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The Wrigleys owned Santa Catalina Island for quite a few years. The Wrigley family is also responsible for setting up the Catalina Island Conservancy and donating most of the island to the Conservancy rather than put it all up for development.

Yes. There are much, much more you can do at Catalina island. They have eco Jeep tours that start at 2 hours to 4 hours. I highly recommended them. The hotels are awesome. If you take the Avalon condos, you basically have an entire condo with the breathtaking ocean views, that is if you book the condos with a view, most have a golf cart at your disposal.

Went there this past weekend and yes the island is beautiful. but that restaurant was horrible!! I had pork tacos and they were old and dry and service was horrible. Avoid that place at all costs.

Memories! 40 years ago, my new wave rock band was booked for a concert at the high school. They not only paid us a lot of money for the concert, but covered our boat trip (where we bumped into Fleetwood Mac), and they put us up at a nice hillside motel with a view. My girlfriend came along, so we got a romantic getaway on Catalina, and my band had a great time rocking the island. Watching your video, the island hasn't changed much in all these years.
Been there three times and so much more things to do like submarine ride , zip lining ; bus tour : etc better overnight to maximize the beauty of Catalina island if u can :❤️love Catalina island and I’ll see u again soon

I wouldn’t recommend renting a golf cart. The town is pretty small and easy to get around walking. Also, Maggie’s Blue Rose is ok but it is not highly recommended among the locals. The island company is also going to be closing the theater inside the casino due to lack of revenue.
Hi. Love your travel videos. But I wish you did a two day stay in Catalina for hotel reviews and excursions you can do like the Jeep echo tours and zip lining and the nice beach and the Avalon condominium rentals, the golf carts.
One pro tip for Catalina, bring plenty of cash because you can get the best deals if you have cash. Many places have a cash versus card price. Or some reasonably priced food places only accept cash. And the Long Beach harbor where you catch the ferry have coupons for attractions in Catalina

That's weird not letting people swim usually that happens when they test the water I say that because during physical education we would run downtown for a swim but they sometimes wouldn't let us due to the water being bad whatever that meant ....I live in Catalina next time you visit I recommend the horse trail it's mostly a spot known by locals but it's a great place for going on a hick and having some peace👍🏻

We watched a movie at The Casino once and it was amazing! Plus our boat was moored about 5-6 boats out so the view from The Casino was pretty darn good too :) And if you stay overnight El Galleon is great for dinner and our fav place: Luau Larrys! Sit on the window sill with a drink and watch the people walk by ~ so fun!

You outdid yourselves with this presentation! Like, you made me want to drive down from Santa Cruz, where I'm at now, and hop on the next ride to Avalon! Great video. Last time I was there was in 1965.
I stayed for a week and you should rent a condo if you stay for long. You get a golf cart that you can drive that comes with it. If you choose a condo then you should pick the ones that point out on the side of the island so you can have a high view of the ocean and beach. There is also an entire obstacle course if you have kids like 13 or even the harder ones for adults (takes about 45 mins). There is a spot for super high up zip lines that go off a mountain over land. I also highly recommend spending at least a day going to the small shops near the pier because you will definitely find things to bring back or even candy like what I did at Lloyd’s candy shop. The island might look small from the front but it is actually massive but most space is just land and trees. If you want to go to Italy but you cannot afford then you should definitely go here because it is like a replica of Italy. Your Welcome!
Had been there and we took a (bit scary) bus ride up through the mountains where there are breath taking views. We went all the way to the airport where we ate buffalo tacos. Loved Catalina!

If you want to stay here over 2 days return your ticket immediately. I stayed here for 2 days and it was so boring I mean what is there to do???? Jetski and bike ride is fun but that can be done in one day. Submarine goes in for 10 feet(like wtf????) food is 45 dollars for a New York steak(bruh it is 9.99 cents at vons) lastly they got no beach it is a HARBOR!!!!! If you call that a beach then San Diego is a freaking paradise I sincerely apologize for the locals they must bypass their days with daydreams.
This is why the states is so cool, on one extreme end is somewhere cosmopolitan like NY and on the other end you have somewhere that looks like Spain/Malta/Italy or somewhere in the Mediterranean such as Santa Catalina, you don't have to travel far to experience.
I really enjoy your videos. You guys do a great job. My only suggestion is that you give us more food options other than tacos and ice cream. Keep up the good work.
