The Catalinbread Galileo and Sabbra Cadabra are two new analog offerings that go after the signature sounds of two guitar gods. Although they have two completely different styles, both Brian May and Tony Iommi were believers in pairing a British tube amp with an early form of overdrive known as the treble booster. Probably the most important thing to remember when talking about replicating both Iommi and May’s tones is that these guys weren’t turning off and on their treble boosters during songs, they just used their volume controls on their guitars.
