A Great rewarding sound that... knocking them targets down....but totally silent when you miss. Hope the sport grows more in popularity over next few years.
The sport and events now held are night and day to these early shoots. The standard of shooter has come on so much too. Happy to say the sport is evolving rapidly!!!!!! And it would be great to see coverage from you guys at more shoots
Jack Davies just taught me something with that magnetic necklace. I've been attaching one to my slingshot but it makes it a bit awkward because it throws the weight off
I liked your video, here in the US we call them slingshots, I make my own out of small forked tree branches and leave the bark on them, I like the rustic look. I'm 55 year's old and I still have some slingshots that I made when I was 10 years old. Keep up the good work.
Wish we had this shoot still. Amazing place to shoot at. Bassaleg and the community Hall the best place but it's not really big now the sports gotten a higher following and more people coming to have ago at putting their name in the history books.
good video i am from the philippines and we call that tirador when i was young we use that to hunt bird . that we made it ourself .im retired but still have one of those i also made it myself along with my gun for sport shooting.
@@paulburns3629 If you're looking for U.S.A made I'd turn to SimpleShot. Another popular brand that I know but resides in china is GZK. Personally I've only bought from Simpleshot and none of their slingshots dissapoint. Id suggest watching their channel online for they give many tips and tricks on how to hone your skill. Been shooting for a couple months now and have not regretted it since. Happy plinking brother!
@@paulburns3629 Yes unfortunately I am from the U.S. I'm not too sure the shipment time from U.S to U.K. I'd look into their website and ask the usual wait times for their customer service is professional. Praying you find a solution my man. Shooting a slingshot while taking in nature around you just feels right.
One you guys should design a a pez despenser style wrist rocket with a magnetic ballbearing grabber on the leather strap to grab the internal ammo in the handle one at a time after dispensing...or revolver design
What a great sport to have a bunch of people sitting around a gym plinking targets with catapults! These are high-end but a good reminder of low tech fun that anyone can start out with for very little investment.
Come to Makassar, capital city of South Sulawesi, youth here developed catapult to be more dangerous weapon for street gangster skirmish, the small metal bullet ball change with 8 to 10 cm sharp metal arrow, cling to the catapult band, this arrow will target enemy body that in some occasion resulted death.
@@jamessanderson5068 it's meant to be a joke...because slingshot guys on youtube are always preaching to wear your safety glasses or horrible things will happen
When we were kids we used to pinch the V shaped springs from under our beds, Get elastics off the postman and cut the tongues out of our shoes for the leather. Our ammo was iron ore balls off the railway lines. Very accurate and loads of fun. (until the police came knocking on your mams door).
Haha, I grew up shooting my slingshots gangster style. in the winter it is too cold to use the slingshots but I am looking forward to the summer where I will be after some rabbits. I want to make a thumb and forefinger support slingshot with flat bands. I am having trouble deciding the best shape for myself but I believe this video just showed me!! :)
Brandon Alan where I am yes. Depending on how cold it gets you can still shoot but its harder on the bands. When its minus forty it will literally freeze the band and snap it.
hey just wondering about strap breakage? probly better off having glasses on shooting? seems everything eye level? i guess it doesnt matter when you get good and instinct shoot from the hip :)
I grew up hunting rabbits lizards and rats with sling shots once you get use to your sling shot you can hit anything most of the times without aiming just pull and release
As a 47 year old women, I’ve just received my delivery of a catapult but no 1000 clay/200 steel balls arrived yet. Had three attempts with round stones, oh my I surprised myself, off to village shop to buy some round mints... Not many women in this sport, any tips guys? Just spoken to my friend who owns a pest business and uses one himself, so going to have a lesson with him, he the one who said go and buy some imperial mints 😂
Kevin Wright wrist rocket's are fun to start, but aren't that good of slings. I'll never go back to a wrist rocket. Go invest in a rotary cutter, cutting pad, tbg rubber, and buy/make a midsized frame similar to what you see in this clip. It'll put a wrist rocket to shame (easier to draw, aim, much faster, concealable etc). Once you make the initial $30 investment you can make allot of bands and sling shot frames to figure out what you like. I recommend "simple shots" lower end slings as an off the shelf decent slingshot with everything fairly dialed in for Target shooting (but bands can be setup for hunting too). Archery and slingshots are allot of fun (I own allot of guns but they don't get used nearly as much now I've gotten into slingshots).
Now spearhunting using slingshot is quite popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam & Thailand...asians skill & expert at using slingshots are incomparable.
@@irmaztamal21 philippines too, the locals call it tiksay, the fishing dart, a lot make their own or have it made in a local junkshop or hardware or vulcanizing shop.
They haven't seen nepal yet nepal has different type of rubber it is much stronger and powerful plus slingshots (guleli) are international nepali weapons
