I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ru-vid.comUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

So today I caught my first 2 fish ever! Both bass too! I just wanna thank you for keeping me motivated to go out there and keep fishing even when they seem to not be biting too much right now!

I love love love pond fishing. I just got into pond fishing this yesr and have caught so many fish. It has been awesome. I usually fish Lake George and St Johns River in Florida where I live. This year I have caught a 5 lb 10 oz bass and a 4 lb 4 oz bass along with numerous fish averaging probably 2 lbs. A great benefit to pond fishing is I can go realistically everyday if I want (and I do) because of how many ponds there are and the close proximity. Thank you for the great videos. I am definitely a fan!!!

My brother and I fish the pond in his neighborhood just about every weekend. We usually fish for catfish, and occasionally bream, but haven't ever really fished for bass even though we've caught a couple on nightcrawlers while fishing for catfish. We wanted to start fishing for bass because the pond is supposed to have a bunch of them. I watched the video on drop shots and rigged up a line. Today, on my first cast I caught a 2-3/4 lb large mouth bass. Thanks to Noah for presenting his fishing tips in such an easy to learn way that allows us novice fisherman to catch more fish.

I remember the first time in Texas I caught a 5 lber on a drop shot hook... I didnt think it was possible but those hooks are so sharp and strong now you can basically just start reeling in and it will set... It's almost guaranteed to go on the roof of their mouth if you just lift it up.

Yes, definetly a great video 👍👍. This is 1 of your best showing HOW to fish your baits and my main concern is size of hooks. When i 1st went to the only spot around Walmart to get set up with baits, weights and Hooks and I saw the size the Hooks R 5/0 for example I thought their NO way these suckers r BIG. I settled for 4/0, little smaller then 5/0 and little bigger the 3/0. NOW I know I need 3/0..... Good job.

Killed them this morning with the Green Pumpkin Senko, but it was overcast and water temp down. I’m seeing nice bunches on my depth finder but haven’t been able to get them deep. Going to try this tomorrow. Good vid. 🎣

I have an idea for a video for you. I just bought my 1st bass boat. Can you give us any tips on navigation or maintenance? Also do you do anything special when it comes to boat positioning? Anything at all to save time/money or catch more/better fish. Another thing might be a tutorial on electronics. The new stuff is AMAZING. I bought my last fish finder almost 25 years ago. I just became semi retired and am planning on getting back into fishing a lot more. Maybe even small local tournaments. By the way I was wondering if it surprises you that an old guy like me would have respect for your abilities and opinion as an angler? That may not have happened without the little glimpse of you and your dad's relationship. I can tell your parents raised you well.

I’ve lived on ponds my whole life excluding my time in the navy The biggest recommendation I can give for Bass: the weather, time of the year, time of the day is everything! When the pressure, from a weather front (cooler weather), is on you, Go fishing. Especially early morning or late afternoon during spring and summer. My go to bait is a Bass or shad colored jerk bait, weedless.
