About Catch 21
"Dancing with the Stars" champs Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson are partners again as the host and dealer of the new Catch 21. In Catch 21, dealing out larger-than-life playing cards, the host quizzes contestants with general-knowledge questions as they attempt to build the closest hand to 21. Part knowledge, part nerve, and part strategy, every correct answer is a chance to add a card and build a better hand or pass the card and “bust” the competition. Putting a familiar twist on a classic game, players match wits and compete for a chance to play for the $25,000 grand prize.

The graphics in this version of Catch 21 are a lot more appealing. He seems to have a better rapport with Witney as well, and she seems really engaged with the contestants.

They did win Dancing with the Stars together so they have known each other really well for awhile.. so I think that's why I LOVE her. Fav dancer.. but I miss Mikkie.

@Sheldon Cooper That don't matter. They can HERE the questions while we at home can read them and catch everything. On The Old Catch 21, Alfonso sometimes rushed through the questions, but now we can follow along

To each their own but the set and format on the old Catch 21 (the 2009-2011 version) is SOOOO much better than this 2019-2020 update. The only thing this reboot has that's better than the 09-11 series is the "High Card Draw" game that's played if there's a tie. The other version did this "first or second card" draw.

I think it is a common practice in the industry. The members of the audience in Millionaire (Philippines) are all wearing black. It looks a lot better onscreen.

I started watching this show a week ago. Alfonso is interpersonal as a game host. I like the way he listens to their stories and he talks to them, and he is so thorough about Catch 21 game.

My room-mate he told me that Alfonso and Witney were on DWTS! I thought Alfonso signature Carlton dance move looked easy but actually was not. But wow, I had no idea he and Witney were excellent couple dancers. I like the way Alfonso dance.

The 2009-2011 version is better in my opinion because: * the set looks so much better * the first player to get a 21 gets a special prize; that's not in this version * I like the point system better. * The podiums with the monitors behind the contestants gives more of that game show vibe to me. * The cards and power chips look better. * When a contestant freezes the freeze graphic looks better in the 2009-2011 version. So does the bust graphic. * In the bonus round the $1,000 the player won is added to extra money won in the bonus round unlike in this version.

i liked the old catch 21 honestly and mickeys character was awesome!!!! the new card dealer in the new catch 21 witney is okay & the graphics of the new catch 21 are decent but i was a major fan of the old catch 21!!!!! as for the new catch 21 i watches it but just not as much as i did before...

A lot of people saying they like this format better. I'm probably in the minority but i like the 2009-2011 set & format a lot better. The only things i like better about this 2019-2020 version is the theme and the High Card Playoff game that's played if there's a tie.

I don't like the answer reveal....seems silly to me. No need for it, and slows the game down. The contestant choices on cards is really overdone too I feel like.

Interesting take. The audience seems to be muted for reasons I don’t understand. In contrast, on the original show, the audience was often too loud. Perhaps it would be better somewhere in the middle.

I just started watching catch 21 about 2 months ago, then I lucked upon the 1st version. They both are great. To me, the best game show ever. I make sure I watch both versions each day. Catch 21 have captured my heart.

Very glad to see this program returning! The new dealer is very lovely too. And Alfonso has gotten even better as a host. I'm glad they did away with the "points". I am curious to find out what happens if the round 1 player also wins round 2.

The other two players have a High Card Showdown, like the old series. It's been reworked from earlier, though. A question is asked, and whomever answers correctly gets to decide who gets who gets the 1st and 2nd card from the deck.

I have to second you on that, although they used to give away bonus prizes if you were the first one to get 21 exactly. They don't do that here, probably for budgetary reasons. I miss the bonus prizes, though.

they need to shuffle cards in front of audience and tv . Or have a gadget that shuffles cards automatically and let the contestant choose after each shuffle the show can fix the cards too easy .,

The other day saw a guy win $25000 first time I’ve ever saw anyone winning that much! They should let the contestants shuffle the cards in front of audience and tv or have a automatic shuffling gadget because it’s easy for the show to cheat the contestants

I will admit this version is way better than when the original was redone from Season 2 on... This show may have hope again... I wonder if more GSN originals will come back?... _Camouflage? Starface?_ Maybe some older originals?

Okay Starface was actually an interesting one. Though I could go for the early 2000s originals that were cancelled way too soon. You know, Russian Roulette, Friend of Foe?, Wintuition, and Cram.

This version is okay, I would definitely watch it if I had cable, but I prefer the older version and wish there was a way I could just watch the show in general. GSN should just put all the episodes of this on RU-vid the original and new version.
