Koolina, westside oahu🖒 some of the hardest uhu catching out there but some beautiful reefs but if you can catch uhu out there you can catch uhu any where!!! Nice videos braddahs i dive out there quite often, surprising you guys didn't get scolded for diving out through the lagoons 😂 there's actually a lot of fish in there!!!! #awas #oios #uhus

I miss diving koolina, spent alot of hours out there and shot some good sized fish. I got lucky one day and shot 2 awas not even 30 minutes into the dive and was only 20 yards out. When i shot the first one it was pulling me around in the water really good and a tourist on the beach thought i was getting mauled by a shark cause i kinda look like ace ventura when he fell in snow flakes tank lol! I got the fish and put it on the stringer and dove back down and got the second awa that was cruising with the first one i shot and the same thing as the first fish it pulled me around like crazy. My friend was really jealous that day haha!. Also got the biggest omilu and mullet at the same spot. Be aware there is a huge tiger that lives out there we ran into him a couple times also be careful of the huge munk seal that lives right outside the first lagoon and to the right maybe about 50 yards. One day i was down getting ready to shoot a big uhu and all of a sudden i heard these weird noises and felt the vibrations underwater it scared the crap outta of me lol i looked to my side and had the biggest munk seal i ever seen just staring right at me about 10 feet away from me. It later took all of our fish we had on the stringer lol

And we got in trouble diving in the first lagoon haha they came out to us on a kayak and told us we had to leave. The mouth of the second lagoon is the best spot to wait for the big ones to swim out and get a shot on them

@@FishandDiveHawaii Yesss! I saw a video from another team, spearing mahi in deep water, less than 30 meters from the shore. I know Moloka'i has some deep water right off the walls. Anywhere else in the islands with that type of shoreline? I'm so pumped to move out there. Just have to get my house in Chicago, ready to sell.

Hey I’m new to spear fishing. Once you catch a fish on the 3 prong and if the fish still has some life to him, how do you keep the fish from getting off? Lost a couple big ones due to that. Thanks.

where and when are the next few spearfishing expos Im visiting Honolulu from Australia and was wondering if there are any really good spearfishing expos or stores?

The best expo is usually in October, it's called the Fish And Dive Expo, and no it's not run by me.haha. It's usually in the later half of the month! I'm gonna try to get a booth, stop by and say hi if you come!

You can dive whenever and wherever, expect in a few designated areas that you can find on the DLNR website. Just Google search "DLNR fishing/spearfishing Hawaii) and you can see the restricted zones and stuff(Shark's Cove, Waimea Bay, Hanauma Bay, Waikiki every other year).

@@honolulueqz808 Some people on here said cannot launch from inside the lagoon but I've been launching from shore last couple times and never had a problem.
