Enjoyed the video ! Wanted to give a Warning to anyone who wanted to try this . There is a guide line for eating raw fish !! You do have to freeze it at a temp for a duration to kill any bacteria or parasites!!
hey tallfishermanj i really love your vids iv been watching your vids since fishing with goldfish i really love what you do and can you keep up the great work your channel is the best
I hope you're doing well but I heard somewhere that fresh water fish must be frozen at a certain temperature for a specific amount of time to kill parasites if it is to be consumed raw.
Whatever you do next, try grilling it like how you would order a salmon steak at a restaurant, and season it and stuff. I think the breading gets rid of a lot of the nice and unique flavors of the fish
Just a little tip, make sure you hold the ingredients in with your fingers, then roll the bamboo mat...it just makes your roll look more rounded and less sloppy, not hate but just a little tip👍
In Florida all the country folk call em speck or speckled perch. Also they call bowfin, mudfish. Never knew they had other names until I started watching RU-vid vids
I think all tilapia species taste a bit different from each other. Maybe do a video of different tilapia species in Florida and cook them all the same way to compare which species taste the best. I think the most common tilapias in south Florida are the spotted and the gray colored ones but maybe try finding some zebra tilapia (Heterotilapia buttikoferi)
cream cheese? I can't stand it myself but Tilapia cooked slightly, ground up with a fork..mixed with a little asian mayo and sriracha...then mixed with some panko for crunch. Roll it into a roll like normal and you got a spicy cruch roll with tilapia that tastes great! You can use many fish for sushi, but for the love of everything holy in whatever religion or lack of you have, do not use catfish! Catfish sushi is only meant for practical jokes and quick toilet trips!
Knife will stay sharp longer if you don't cut on a glass surface. Try slicing the cream cheese in strips instead of spreading it. Nice first go though.
can you eat a red snapper?, they look like giant pink tilapias, idk if it's legal, but if it is, try it. I'm from Brazil, I don't think we have red snappers around here.
