I didn't know about that. I've fished at GP before for kokanee, but can't seem to catch many there. I'd get 1 on a good day. I plan to try again soon.

1? We seem to slay it up there. At least 20 everytime between 2 of us running our 4 rods on stacked downriggers. Had great luck with the black and silver Brad's kokanee cut plugs. Even pulled up a landlocked chinook last time we were there.

@@charleszeigler4553 but what size were they, last few times i fished there they were all tiny, but been awhile

@@snakeriverfisher they are about 10 inch or so. Small but perfect size. 25 per person is great to thin out the Kokanee so the rest can get bigger.

You're lucky to be settling in Yachats. And welcome to Oregon. For here, I don't think I've ever heard of people catching halibut from the beach. The best place for launching a kayak would be Depoe Bay because there are big ling cod right outside the bay. Plus some big rock fish too. You can drop your pots there too. Tight lines!

PK Yi That's amazing. I feel extremely happy when I here that. Sounds to me like a real life happy ending story like in the Disney movies. I live south of Oregon in Oroville, Ca. I moved 3 years ago from the bay area. I love the fishing places here. However I know Oregon has it's whole one of a kind experience. A long time now I always thought of ending up in Oregon. I was first excited about Oregon due to it being the capital of the world for mobile food trucks. I have a feeling it will be next year I take my first trip to Oregon.
