Great catch and cook man. Snakehead have been here for a long time now I don't think they're doing too much damage still catching a lot of largemouth bass.
Thanks for checking out the vid bro!! Yeah I agree I think they should just be released unless you want to eat them for lunch, just like the issue with the Northern Snakehead it’s probably not going to be removed by anglers killing a few here and there so they should just let them be.
Then in Philippines snake head is locally known as "dalag or haluan", and we cook it with in different recipes. We cook it like chicken curry but the best recipe is "Nilagpang" it's more like a soup but snake head meat must grilled first.
My friend Chris goes to Thailand a few times a year for business and his favorite fish there is "exploded snakehead", cooked whole over coals with chili sauce down the back when it bursts open. After a really tough day on Ida a few weeks ago (only 3 clowns, a bass and one pea all day) my buddy the snakehead master took me to one of his spots and saved the day. In 45 minutes we had a half dozen snakes on frogs, my biggest was a 6 1/2 on the boga. Interesting fact; the top of the skull is hard as a rock but if they choke it you can very easily kill them on hookset when the hook(s) penetrate the very thin skull bottom. My last fish put up no fight, dead immediately so it was my buddys dinner. You did a great objective review. The only fresh water fish I've ever had that is as good as snapper or grouper is Arapaima, the Amazonian catfish are also close, so much better than our US versions. You should hop on a trip down south, doing Brazil 12/14 - 12/22 and Colombia beginning of March.
Good video!👍if you think that's a fight, come to VA and catch a Northern snakehead from the Rappahannock River or the Potomac. My biggest is 12 pounds 32 inches but seen people catch them up to 17 pounds
Thanks for watching my friend!! Videos will definitely continue to come I love to fish, and I haven’t seen any Snakehead down south in Miami Kendall or Homestead but who know maybe they’ll make there way down soon.
@@BitetheBaitFishing305 ....dipped fillets in milk for an hour then rolled them in egg wash then rolled them in Louisiana fish fry....delicious to say the least bro. Those ugly snakeheads are great to eat. 👍👍👍👊👊👊
I can't wait till I catch my 1st snakehead. I was not expecting to see that color meat. Puffer fish are shockingly delicious too. They taste like a chicken drumstick. Checkout Deer meat for dinner's channel. He has a couple of catch and cook videos on how to clean them properly. Do the snakeheads go after worms too?
You will love catching snakehead! They are very exciting on topwater with a frog with huge blowups, it’s crazy how white the meat on that fish was I’d a never thought possible living in such dark water. And yeas you can occasionally catch snakehead on worms spinnerbaits and swim Jigs.
