I have learned so much from your channel. I am 70+ years old but one of my strengths is keeping and open mind and always willing to learn from others. Thank you for your teaching and great video's. I'm catching MORE fish!!!
I use to catch coolers full of white bass on Lake Erie with my grandpa, using Shysters, Mepps and Roostertails. They seemed to run in schools and as fast as you could catch one and get your line back in the water, you would have another. Great action until the school moved out of the area. It didn’t take long to catch enough for a family fish fry. Now, I’m the grandpa, teaching my grandson and still learning from your tutorials. Thank you for your videos Richard. I have recently acquired some blade baits and Kastmaster spoons and will give them a try.
@@jonboatmorava9115International Game Fish Association's Hall of Fame. 1970, 1974, 1977: B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year. Nice try but your wrong bud😂 23 National Bass Fishing titles and 7 B.A.S.S. titles. Caught first bass in B.A.S.S. history. 1986: National Freshwater Hall of Fame.
Ok, Richard really is an absolute machine! Laughing out loud when he sees "The Birds"! and he's gotta get that adrilogen out. A blessing from the Lord, you are!
Just fished an underspin for the first time today after watching your videos. The water here has been muddy and cold. Was throwing every lure in my box and just couldn’t get bit. Tied on the underspin today and landed a good 3lb largemouth off the bank within the first few minutes. Now I’m going to try the spoons I have sitting in my tackle box! You are the man Richard! Thank you for the endless information!! God bless!
That was fun, love the fishing conditions. Another lesson learned today. Using bottom baits you need frog hooks to keep them from getting nagged on the bottom. Thanks Richard, 👍
Wow Richard you no doubt are the best fisherman ever! I have been watching and sharing your channel for over 2 years! I have learned so much from your channel, at 74 years you would think I knew all this great info you are sharing! You are a super great teacher and you know how to explain everything! Thank You Brother,God's blessings always!!! 😇
Nothing beats going down a rabbit hole, and watching your video's on a cold rainy Saturday.. Watch, Laugh, and LEARN.. with Richard Gene, the fishing foo.... MACHINE, i meant machine.. lol.
Big White Bass cast after cast? Been there done that and felt the same way you did brother. God bless everyone on the other side of this screen. Whooo.
Thank you Gene for another great video. The children love when you explain your fishing gear and fishing techniques. i've seen them play your vid again and again so they learn your techniques. whoo your keeping the kids out of the street.
I got back into fishing the previous summer. My dad used to take me fishing often when I was little. The first fish my daughter caught by herself was on a Kastmaster. My dad saw the photos and sent me a whole set of Kastmasters. They're my favorite because you can catch anything with them.
love the show richard and white bass are one of my favorite to catch cause they fight well. God bless you on your journey and thanks for all your sharing of knowledge. tight lines.....
Love this video. Not crazy about winter fishing. In Texas we get strong north wind with front, then usually next two days stronger south winds. As I've gotten older, I can still handle the cold, not the wind. Richard, really appreciate all that 👏 you do, all the knowledge you share with us. God bless y'all and stay safe out there on the water.
those kastmaster spoons with the bucktail tear up the fish in the surf around Destin ... bluefish, ladyfish and even spanish mackerel eat 'em up ... fish 'em fast off the second bar and hang on !
Dang!! I've seen hooks like that but never realized how much you could avoid snags with them. Always wondered why the heck anyone would want two hooks over a treble hook. One of my favorite fishing holes I lose a lot of blade baits and keep getting more and more hesitant to throw them in that spot but there's so many fish that bite there (still trying to drag in a Walleye in that spot). I'm gonna get me some of those frog hooks!! 😁 (already have like 50 blade baits lolol) I recently fell in love with throwing blade bait this fall and have been at it even all through the Winter as we had a really mild one for the most part here in Michigan. Thanks a bunch!!! 🤩
Richard, I fish for these all through the summertime on Weiss but a different tactic that believe it or not but using the blade runner with my method will guarantee you a bite or a white bass, hybrid stripe almost every cast. If you ever want to go you are always welcome to meet me at the boat ramp, it would be an honor sir!
I look forward to every video. My fishing season is starting in Indiana, and I just wanted to let you know. I've done fairly well the past few years with some nice Bass and numerous Crappies (I still use the Eagle Claw Rods that I bought after watching your earlier videos). I have eight of those, all in the ultra-light series, and then ya get rich and buy those custom jobs (I want one and will try and get one this year. You rascally rabbit, your videos will put this retiree further into the poor house. I have here a jig there a jig cause ole Richard catches fish with them. My favorite spinning reel is the Shimano Spirex. I have two of all three sizes. My favorite bait casters are the Abu Garcias of all sizes, even with some collector items. Oh well, I've been stuck in the house with sickness, and this old tired 72-year-old fart ain't gots nuttin' else to do...but I'll quit. Thanks again for another "adrilligin" inspired video. Oh yeah, and may the good LORD take a likin' to ya.
Hey love the white bass how too with blade baits and using the frog hooks ! Hope you do a few more like this .I use a lot of crawfish about 1.5 to to 2.5 inch live ones to catch white bass at Calhoun down below Rumsy here in ky you will catch every thing on them from spots ,hybrids, catfish, drum, and striper ! I Carolina rig them with a a two ft leader and a 1 or 2 ot eagle claw gold hook fish them on the river ledge or sandy flats .
You are fortunate to. E able to fish such a fine fishery. Not everyone in the country has this advantage within a reasonable driving distance. You are one hell if an angler but you are fishing a giant honey hole every time you put a line in.
I appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge with us! One question what is the name and brand of the Blade Bait you are using. Thank you Sir!
Will you share the blade bait used for this video and where you bought it at. I don’t think I have seen a blade bait with frog hooks. Maybe I live under a rock. As always Great video.
Love your videos they are very informative, would these ways of fishing work I northern florida in river and lakes? I'm originally from west virginia and I'm not sure what works best here like I would up there
I love jigging with a swim jig or flipping jig. The way theyre designed especially a flipping jig the soft plastic will present its self in an upright position for a bass to see as well as smell with good attractant. Like procure i know richard wouldnt be a fan of procure because they use live minnows, shad or creyfish and nightcrawlers to create there attractant. I love it i tell you what fish will bite because its the real deal on your soft plastics 😊❤
Richard, I need help!! I'm using 8 lb braid and I want to connect 4 lb fluorocarbon leader. The braid keeps cutting into the leader and breaking it. What knot do you use? I'm not even getting half the strength of the fluorocarbon before it snaps.
It actually looked like krystal flash (which is twisted), flashabou is flat strands. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I've just been a fly tyer for 47 years.
