Union Pacific's Big Boy #UP4014 roams west this summer, with stops in Roseville, CA and Ogden, Utah as it thunders again across Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California! Check out all of the details at UPsteam.com !
This entire advertisement is beautiful. I need a 4014 movie like 2816 got, just a cinematic view of the engine working hard. (Or more rescue attempts like the stalled freight!)
Very nice. I was very fortunate to have seen #4014 (and U.P. #844) up close in the Ogden Station when I went to Utah for the Golden Spike Sesquicentennial in 2019, and while I've seen many videos of these two magnificent locomotives, it's another experience entirely to walk out on a platform and see them right in front of you.
I love the 4000 class, my favorite class of locomotives! I only wish we can still get a 4014 and 3985 doubleheader in the future. Imagine how big that would be, there hasn’t been an articulated steam locomotive doubleheader since 1959 on the UP and a Challenger and a Big Boy probably have not doubleheaded since 1956 or 1957!
I hope soon they will make a trip back to Texas and run the old T&P route like they did a few years ago . It was absolutely awesome to stand next to this Beautiful Behemoth in Marshall , Texas
God Bless Big Boy and everyone keeping it alive and well, I’ll catch big boy again on its later run this year in the fall when they come back through texas
I’m still debating on seeing it seeing how I have family in Roseville, but I think I might seeing how I’ve been wanting to see the engine again since it’s first return to California in 2019.
I sat in Big Boy 4014’s cab last year during a private tour of UP’s steam shop and roundhouse in Cheyenne, WY. My dad and I are planning on going to Laramie to see it thundering down the line once more on June 30. I’m looking forward to it.
Folks, if you have a chance to go see Big Boy, then go!! It will impress you like nothing else you've ever seen. Be ready to feel the ground shake as Big Boy passes, your heart will race, the whistle will rattle everything around you, you'll feel weak in the knees, a lump in your throat, maybe some tears in your eyes, then a big smile will be on your face as this monster heads on down the track. And it's something you'll rave about...and never forget.
Roseville!!! I'm there!!! Count on it !!! Thanks U P. For keepin' BIG BOY 4014 ALIVE!!! LOVED HER ABOUT ALL MY LIFE AND I'M TURNIN' 61 IN AUGUST !!! 😍😍😍😁😁😁💯💯💯❣️❣️❣️💫💫💫
Wow so the fastest route is just under 6.5h from where I live. Quite a far drive but if my schedule can allow for it, I might just consider going. Must be insane to hear and see that in-person! 😂
I'm still upset that they retired the 3985. I was aboard two excursion trips pulled by that locomotive. So I have fond memories of the Challenger. I guess it wasn't good enough to keep in thier steam fleet.
@@timdouglas8800UP 3985 and 5511 were donated to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America in 2022. They are currently in Silvis, Illinois being restored to operation by RRHMA and they will operate excursion trains out in the Midwest when completed.
@WiilyDerbbinphlatte They primarily just don't want to take any risks in-case something catastrophic were to happen. Remember the #4014 is a huge asset for their company.
I wish I could make this, as it's my birthday week they're doing this. But 4014 will be too far away. I'm in Texas, so it would be days of driving to try and catch her on the 10th of July, my b-day.
@@unionpacific im just glad that it is still running for everyone to see you guy did a great job on here i like the Whole set up not just the engine the engine is one in a million.
