Yes Chase it was great I don't know if you saw during the live chat but hank Elliot came up and chase I don't know if you ever watched that on atwt but if you have time you should that played out from around July of 1988 up until November or December of 1989. And I think Colleen is so loved because hank was Barbara's fashion designer at bro or Barbara Ryan originals so even though Barbara did bad things during the Doug Marland era the fact that she accepted hank bieng gay as well as Iva who was played by Lisa brown sent a strong message to the gay comunity. Letting them know they are loved too. And that was and is the beauty of soaps.

@@user-hs2xt9ux5m his name was Brian starcher and yes he was the first gay male charecter in a soap in a major role but from what I understand agnes Nixon suposedely on aw in the 1960s while Rachel was at college did do a lesbian sorority sister in the late 1960s. But. Miniscule compared to hank Elliot. Heck that was not only bold but Doug Marland was so ahead of the curve with the gay fashion designer before their was any shows like queer eye for the straight guy.

Agreed Alan is the best and benjanin I am a y and r fan also. But benjamin it's amazing how during the live chat hank Eliot came up by several others and that shows you how relavent that story still is some 36 years after Doug Marland wrote. And benjamin since you have become a huge Colleen zenk fan here is a little more info not only is Colleen a huge champion herself of lbtq+ people and aids like Judith light is. Hank Elliot was actually Barbara's gay fashion designer at bro. Or Barbara Ryan originals back during the Doug m days. And that story started around July of 1988. And that's one of the reasons why the gay comunity loved Colleen zenk so much and Barbara from the old days because watching Barbara excepting hank and the people in oakdale meant a lot to them. Just my thoughts.

Gabriel, thank you for always supporting & sharing your thoughts on all interviews! It was quite different when I was growing up in the 1960s and 70s. I had a very wonderful mom she was from a different era grew up in the depression was in the war in Europe before coming to our country. My mom was a registered nurse for 52 years. MOM‘s two fellow nurses was Carter( The original Jackee Harry in every way ) and Josephine was a ( Nell Carter 🙏) type . They were the three musketeers on their floor! Mrs. Gray, who was in charge of the nurses where they worked would always try to put them together because they works in sync. Carter was almost in trouble every week in search of a husband. MOM would have to go to always defend them and get them out of hot water with the hospital administration, and the other nurses, but these were her core. But the story I wanted to share with you is when Josephine retired after 33 years early 90s at her retirement dinner she and her husband were there and they have been together all I wanna say it was almost 45 years they knew each other from childhood! Josephine, when all was said and done, and everyone was sitting having their cake and coffee took the podium, and my mother said gave such a lovely speech On respect, tolerance, and embracing differences and then revealed Josephine was actually Joseph shockwaves to say the least!! I remember Being told everyone being very upset. Eventually Everyone got over there shock and I remember my mother saying later on she was A damn good nurse and in reality it didn’t change who she was and their friendships continued are used to love when Carter would come even after my mom retired 52 years and tell my mother how she wish she was still there to get her out of hot water, and like everything else LIFE brings you on to different roads. By my mothers attitude and thought process change slowly and I did see Carter a few years after my mom passed which was 17 years ago and she would tell me things I never knew and how truly great my mom was with all the nurses she was a counselor, psychiatrist, etc. and she raised eight of us on own My dad died when I was young. And here’s your laugh Carter had said still looking for my husband. My mom used to tell her all the time she tried too hard and she was so lovely and vivacious. She always had dates. I’ll tell you that and she always looks spectacular, so yes acceptance is what everyone needs. It’s OK to have different views, but one has to love and respect each other for no one has walked in our shoes.💯😊🙏💙

I am glad you feel safe Micheal In our community as well I know I feel safer bieng able to talk about my family situation with a trans family member and micheal. I feel that way so Concerning the older and younger generation like the calling yourself non binary as I just think you are born one sex or the other. but I think that is happening because of the extreme far right. But I still don't get it fully and I am bringing it up bevause of something Danny said during the interview with Alan. With the he they them. And micheal I watched days on peacock this morning and thought further about something you said concerning gay couples and daytime. and got an idea right off of hank Eliot that I wish Ron carlivati would do and that's I wish Ron would introduce a gay basic black fashion designer who would be a completely new charecter and introduce his partner who would also be a completely new character. Or pair that gay fashion designer with leo. But again I am not sure leo should stay gay. As I am liking leo finnaly turning into a likable charecter. Question is could Ron do my idea without ruining it and making it look ridiculous. Hope this makes you feel better micheal.

However, I would like to see Leo fall for him, but they would be on equal ground. I think that we need to see Leo have a partner to show the versatility of Mr. Rikkart. Also, I watch Y and R and would like them to do a same sex story with two gentlemen. With that story, I would like them to cast a couple who come to Genoa City and are at opposite sides with Newman and Abbott enterprises.

@@michaelcdavis7047 that's an idea but I am not sure that would work at y and r but Micheal like I said I want the 3 p and g shows back but my idea would be gradually with resets and remixes too find a, way to gradually somehow get while showing some love to the lbtq+ comunity somehow get something like things you have suggested done but concerning leo I am just not sure before with him it was just too annoying with him and I think sent the wrong message concerning people who were gay. I think the writers strike was a blessing because for the first time we saw leo begin to get fleshed out without the constant anoyance traits with the gay bieng shown In A bad light. We just need a way to unfortunately go back to the Doug Marland way. But more needs to be done. I defenetely agree micheal. We just need to do it slowly and gradually and make sure it fits into each show. As for Ron I am worried that if he ever took my idea he would screw it up. Thats why micheal I never liked making charecters suddenly gay from core families whether Bianca will or Luke Snyder. Or sonny kairakis But I do feel strongly that we need new gay charecters not related to core family's or charecters but find ways to introduce new families that tie to the show . Thats why I feel strongly still first about my transgender storyline because it would cover multiple fronts. But the days one I could see doing right now that I thought of this morning. But again worry Ron would mess it up. Maybe if Ron watched the whole hank Elliot storyline on you tube that Doug Marland wrote that would help him. Because my whole gay fashion designer idea for days came straight from hank Elliot with the gay partner. But this time we get to see his face. Unlike the original. I don't know micheal if you have watched that era of atwt or seen hank Eliot but if not you should watch it. It's great.
