It is typically referred to as a Spinning Armbar, but Japanese Arm Bar is just another term I picked up for it over the years and prefer to use while coaching since it’s less commonly called that, and I can call it out with a slightly less chance of an opponent knowing my athlete is about to attempt it. Cannot remember where I picked up that specific name. Perhaps Erik Paulson? Not 100% sure though. So it’s become a habit for me to refer to it as that. A good reference might be Steve Scott’s JUJI GATAME ENCYCLOPEDIA book. 👍🏻 🙏🏻- J. Bane
