Quick reminder, we are all human and we're just having fun playing a game we grew up with. Remembering each niche interaction in a game with many is a ridiculous ask. Laugh with us when we blunder, because I promise you're not free from mistakes. Hope y'all enjoy the video and thank you Tobin for always being a good friend 💜
I comment a lot about these mechanics and stuff but it's not in a bad way, I want to explain things and laugh about it! A lot of people afterwards in the comments asks what happened as well. So don't take it personally, I know it's not the same to think about it at the moment than watching an edited video that can be paused and all. Please keep with this content, I have a great time watching it as well!
Agreed❤ I've run legendary big brain sets like 1) Choice Band Dragon Dance, my opponent must've been so confused why I was dragon dancing instead of attacking for the win 😭 2) Assault Vest Grimmsnarl 🥲 found out the hard way And my favourite Choice Specs Flutter with Trick Room (this was intentional, had 3 attacks I needed didn't know what else to run as 4th move. Went with TR just in case I needed to reverse TR and somehow switch out. Actually came useful in 2 games )😂
@@darioschottlenderExactly. The Grassy Terrain-EQ interaction is pretty niche and the game doesn’t even communicate it to you. I barely knew about until Gen 9 was out and it was only thanks to Bulbapedia. Do not blame anyone for missing that.
On the one hand, I learned everything besides "click big button STAB" from these videos, so it's very funny. But on a bit of thought, these videos are heavily condensed. A lot happens between the cuts we get, and mistakes are made. But it's still funny in the video context.
@@Insomniac402 If the goal was to remove all weaknesses, then yes. But if you feel pretty clear on either not getting hit by grass or which enemies can hit you with grass, then regenerator can keep you alive longer. I would say that it is probably more broken... though the same would be true of going for huge power. The trick is that it is kinda boring.
@@Insomniac402 i like regen more honestly, keeping Swampert into a grass type doesn't make much sense anyway, both stabs are resisted, might as well just kill the grass types with something else.
The best way I can think of to make Meganium better is to either give it Thick Fat or Triage. Thick Fat would work for bulkiness while Triage would make a great aggressive supporter playstyle with Pollen Puff, Draining Kiss, Giga Drain, and Floral Healing. Also move some of the physical attack to special attack.
@@CyberchaoXI think they are just speaking in general that it would be so much better with Triage. It definitely would help it. It should be it’s hidden ability instead of leaf guard. Why would u need leaf guard when u have priority on Aromatherapy? Among a few other healing moves it gets like giga drain, leech seed, etc. I’ve been saying it should get Triage for over a year and I’m glad I’m not the only one with this thought process.
You guys should do a Mirror Challenge. Spin for 3 random Pokémon - You each Pick 1 from the same 3 Pokémon to catch in the wild without telling the other person until the end of the round. First one to Catch theirs gets to give it any ability. You Might get a Legend and 2 Common - what do you pick? Legend and hope you get it first, or easy to find Common in hopes your any ability will win it for you. You have to try and guess what the other person might pick and our smart them, or you end up picking the same and first to catch it get to buff theirs. And if you are a lucky Duck and manage to catch a Shiny of the Pokémon you chose, you get to give it 1 illegal move. Build your best team after 6 rounds. :)
Hey Tobin I had a video idea, randomize 6-10 abilities then both you and your opponent try to catch pokemon to use the abilities, all abilities are shared removing that aspect of challenge
Someone mentioned a couple weeks ago having a "budget" of 2000 BST to build a team. I'd like to take that idea cleaned up and expanded on.. Start with a budget of 3000, draft randomly out of 3, but if you take a pokemon over 500 BST it costs you double for all the BST over 500. For example a Mew would cost 700. If you run out of budget in the last rounds you might get stuck with a pre-evo. Be hilarious content if someone end sup with a crap last pick, not able to afford a legendary, or with a bunch of wasted budget left over.
Tbf Swampert being asleep for the entire battle is because it never actually got to burn sleep turns since it kept switching out up until the end when it was not possible to swap out no more
9:40 Yes Tobin, Inteleon can learn Scald. People usually use Snipe Shot instead though becuse of higher crit ratio and Sniper ability. They both 80 base power but yes. For some reason Game Freak decided Inteleon need 2nd 80 base power water type special move to use while pokemon who'd need it doesn't have any.
i swear you're the only one that makes videos with tavi. can anyone correct me? cuz like shady, dylan, luke, pat, raidaway.... i swear none of them include tavi!!!! and i watch like every single video of this whole circle of friends. i love y'all and the antics of these pokemon battles, but tavi needs more light!
Tavi is more friends with Tobin than he is with the others I assume. He also probably just does stuff in the background for them if anything, because in a recent Luke video I believe Tavi worked on some of the shinies for him.
@@NatePhan valid on both. he was in a pat video today atleast, so i got my small wish lol. but yea now that you mention it, he does alot of background stuff for the videos he isnt in
Saw the eq/grassy terrain and thought the same but to be fair for doubles was kinda sick with earth eater metagross And in the end the only mon that could have been hit in the entire video had levitate so meh, who cares
A fun series would be doing exactly what you do in this video, EXCEPT! Except you can not use the same pokemon you used in the last video, adding to that unusable pokemon list for every video you make in the series.
