Catching Bass with an ICE FISHING ROD!

In this video I attempt to catch big bass with a tiny ice fishing rod! It is a very fun and frustrating challenge. In the end I lost more fish than I caught due to poor hook sets but I was still able to land three decent sized bass!
Don't send me stuff!... but if you want to I'd really appreciate it!

*Packaging was awesome. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend Tube is tough and kept the rod very safe. Rods gorgeous! Can’t wait to use it this spring.*

Your using a tiny rod and light weight line, you don't try and crank the fish in. You want to fight the fish, that's the joy of using light gear. You use light gear with light drag and enjoy the fight. You may lose more than you catch but that the fun of it . I have even used an ice jigging rod to catch black sea bass.

ive caught my personal best on a crappie rod so it can be done but u do need a longer rod for a better hook set

with a small rod like the do 1 hook set then reel and if you can keep the fish on keeep hook settin softly

that's nothing. Unlike most 7' 50+braid wenching killers making their bass ski across the water I use a 4' ultra light with 10lb braid and use it for carp fishing on our farm pond. 30lbers easy having the best time fighting them.

Haha I had 6lb test, 2lb would make it extra hard to get a decent hook set. Should definitely give it a try though! Lots of fun once you get one hooked. Thanks for watching Isaac!

Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ru-vid.comUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

All the chest mounts are with a GoPro hero 3+ black. The tripod shots (including the 0:15 shot) are from a Panasonic G7. Thanks for watching!

Battery doesn't last very long on the GoPro. I'd guess around an hour or so of continuous shooting. I have 5 spare batteries for the GoPro
