I think you might have missed the story of this game, it seems from the notes you drowned and died and the marsh was limbo, some people find their way out, others don’t and stay stuck in limbo, but you make it out to join your place in the stars forever. It’s really a melancholy tale with somewhat of a happy ending depending on how you look at it.
I guess the main character is a kid in this game? Based on his or her size and height at the end (plus catching and collecting bugs is a childhood sort of leisure activity)
I love that the bugs are talking about each other, having some sort of connection together. Like the Cricket trying to decipher the love letter that the Monarch dropped near him!
This game reminds me of some happy memories of my childhood. When i was kid, every year during school holiday I would go back to village to live with my grandparents. In Chinese village, at summer night we can always hear very loud swamp sound, frog sound. I slept while listening to those sound, they are loud sound, but they are very lovely and very calming. I had a very hard childhood, lots horrible things happened in my childhood, but the memory of sleeping while listening to frog sound is very beautiful and very sweet.
I'm about 15 mins into this one so far, and I have literally no idea what is going on at all. Gab is saying, "So Cuuuute" a lot, mixed with slightly psychotic glee at pouncing on unsuspecting bugs. And the world looks vewy pwetty, and the sounds and colours are relaxing. But no idea at all, still. This is the happiest I have been in ages. I think I'll just stick around a while and listen to her mumble the same things that are mostly going on in my own mind. Only she has a far cuter voice. And maybe it'll make sense at some point. Or not; don't care. This will probably still be playing when I fall asleep. I might miss the end. But that's not because it's lacking in something. Like excitement or entertainment or whatever. It's the opposite. It's because it _has_ something. Calm. Friendly, positive, cuuute calm.
This game was so cute in so many ways, I didn't know anything about it before watching this video. And I was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtful and cute the game was. So many little details and tid bits of fun and information. I enjoy the variety in your game play
I have a pet chameleon and she is a master at catching bugs!! This looks like one of those relaxing stress reducing background games, can't wait to come back and watch it through! 😊
Toad: Lurks in unusual places. Yeah. I found one in my washing machine once, after washing my clothes. I think he was fine. He jumped onto the wall and slid off before finding his way back outside.
@@discordiacreates6669 That's what I dreaded, but several people convinced me he could survive it. I use only cold delicate cycle with a small amount of soapnuts (reetha), it's the quickest wash cycle with the biggest rinse. He was also gigantic and possibly an invasive species. 🤷♀ Wish I could know for sure, either way, I'd just like that knowledge.
@@Ajlez ah, well idk about the kind of soap you used but if it was little and washed off quickly, they might've just been sick for a while. They can absorb moisture through their skin though to avoid needing to ever drink in the traditional sense so that's why pretty much all chemical based products are pretty bad for them. Whether or not it was invasive though... Can't help much with that, if you had a picture or a really good description the list could be narrowed down, but hopefully you just have one or two bigger native species (I've seen bull toads get massive with enough nutrients) and hopefully they are fine either way. They were well enough to run so I'll hope as well
Holy cow! I remember playing this game a few months back and thinking this was a total Gab Game. I absolutely adore games with journal logging for different species and stuff along those lines and this just checked all the cozy boxes for me. So glad you’re playing it!
Ah, bug catching. I used to carry rolly poly's in my pockets as a kid, take them out and roll them across the floor like mini marbles. I'd release them outside at night. I never killed any, but I must have traumatized them, so..... Sorry bugs!
Very cute game. I really enjoyed dragonfly, tadpole, bee, and moth. Not sure why firefly considers the spider to be polite. Although, it bugs me (pun intended) that you catch amphibians in a bug catching game.
Oh, this game looks interesting! (I normally used to get up around 11AM to watch Gab's new video, but I've been waking up 1:30PM in the afternoon...) Game recommendation: Lil' Gator (I think it's made by the same people that "A Short Hike") The Snail: _"Momento Mori"_
Sad but beautiful game, also, I'm french, and I can tell that your french accent is really good. You speak french very well for someone who has just heard it sometimes, congrats ! I wanted to ask you if you could play the game called ColdSide, it's a really good and atmospheric horror game inspired by the universe of the SCP Foundation. The sountrack has also been made by the same person who has done the soundtrack for the game Soma, so, it's not nothing. ColdSide has 4 different endings depending on your choices in the game, I hope you'll see my comment and play the game ! Thank you for reading and thanks for all the awesome job you're doing for us, it's a real pleasure !
Was the "Hey Annette!!" in reference to The Princess Bride "Hey Abbot!" where he whispers "I hate that guy" after because if so can we be friends? Hahah
I think this is so cute but also I wish they told you the species name in lay terms or used the genus names instead of species names. because the latin name they give isnt like any cricket or bee etc its a specific species of that insect but if they gave the genus name that would be all of that insect type (nit picky i know but i feel like its misleading)
I wasn't fully paying attention but was listening to what all the constellations were saying. And it kinda sounds like your character has died and is seeking peace before moving on.
Hi gab if you love this game I think you'd like beasts of maravilla island. You play as a photographer in magical hidden jungles in maravilla island. It's really cute about an hour long. And there's toem it's really cute I don't wanna spoil that one but give it a look! If you record it or not I don't mind I just think you'd enjoy it
Gab i love watching you its so relaxing and i have a recommendation, I would love for you to play slime rancher 2. I rewatch your playthtough of slime rancher all the time and wish i could watch you play the second one pretty pretty please!
I think you were meant to talk to each star as you got them. It might have made it more immersive. But the game maybe could have set it up better so that you were more aware of that mechanic.
I haz questiono (if you're not tired of it): Does Sean ever call you by your proper name? Evelien instead of Evelyn? The only reason I'm asking is cause I'm Dutch and know it's hard to pronounce for foreigners XD
