Many trappers struggle with the idea of catching predators in cables. However, it's actually very effective and a great addition to your trapping arsenal, especially when the weather turns bad. Hope you find this helpful. If so, please Subscribe and click the notification bell.

Hi, just wanted to take the time to thank you for your videos. Just got back into trapping recently, when I was trapping ( mid 70’s )we did not have any coyotes in my area. Little bit of a learning curve to say the least. Your videos do help please keep it up.

Great tips nick. I use the dakotaline lowpro relaxing locks smaller than the washer locks and legal in WV work great. Great video brother!

I just had something kill its self in a cable restraint, got wrapped up. First one I ever set so definitely learned to keep them in a more open area. Thanks for the tips man.

I got some cable restraints with very tiny relaxing locks from southern snares. Think they are called the Missouri legal snare, or something. They also have the breakaway for deer.

Good info, a tip for the guys wanting to use #9 wire. Bend the wire into a u shape on the end your driving into the ground. Basically bend it about 3 inches from the end... I use my pogo driver to push it into the ground. This keeps that wire from swiveling in the wind and when deer walk through them. I try not to set up on inclines around here. Deer seem to think they need to lower there heads when climbing ....

I never was good with cables or snares... gotta do something though. The coyotes just keep thriving on my farm no matter how many I catch/kill.

Imagine trying to set a CR in 20 inches of snow and frozen ground. You will never catch a coyote in that in a million years
