That will be extremely difficult for two reasons 1) crappie are in deep water this time of year (my best chance would be in the spring time) 2) those big lakes I normally fish have very little if any public shoreline to fish from. I am still looking for a spot that I can catch crappie from sure. When I do, I will be sure to film it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I've fished in Canada before (Manitoba). We could use live minnows but had to buy them at the local baitshop only. I've heard different provinces only allow for frozen bait. not sure why the rules are different for different provinces.
Davis man, you know i love your content. Im learning so much. Kinda gearing up now for fall bite and ice fishing. I have a question. Why would u keep a 13 inch and throw back a 9? Seems like the opposite. Idk. Tell me bud. Thanks man.
Great information. I am in south Alabama and our water temperature is a little above 80 degrees. Deep water lake, what depth would you suggest for these water temps?
It would depend on on how clear or dirty the water is. If it's clear water the crappie will be deeper 15ft+, if it is muddy or stained they could be around the 8-12ft range.
Just getting into the crappie fishing scene and have learned a ton from your videos! I have noticed that you use non painted jig heads. Is there a particular reason for that?
They are usually the least expensive (a lot of people first starting out use them), also I'm not sponsored by any jig company as of this post. I figured I would use what most people would buy. I have to say the hooks do bend if you get them stuck in brush or rocks. Some of the higher end jigs are made with stronger hooks.
