Hi Dagnel please do a challenge where you pay off your first loan with the recycle box in resident services you know the box with the useless items in I wanna see you lose all ur brain cells But do the 98k one Rules no multiplayer on the joycons (cause if someone isn’t the leader items they get go in it) Lose your brain cells Scream Put your sweat and blood into the challenge Hope you do it (All of them would be impossible)
I know it's a speedrunning switch and not the console you actually play on day to day, but I find it hilarious to imagine that your switch only has zelda, animal crossing, and suika
@@red5_skywalkerit’s just a switch that someone uses for speedrunning. it allows him to have his main animal crossing island on a different switch, and constantly reset the island on his speedrunning switch for challenges.
@@red5_skywalker It's a normal Switch you happen to use exclusively for speedrunning / content creation as opposed to your downtime. So, for example, you can delete saves without worrying about losing your progress, or you can set games to certain versions (important for having certain glitches available) and not upgrade them without missing out on some features in casual play, etc.
There's nothing better than these critterpedia/museum challenges, honestly I couldn't imagine taking on a hardcore fishing challenge like this, my nerves just get me every time, but it's so cool to see Dagnel find ways to get it done like the look away index finger method!
Gaming with feet is something some disabled players actually do if they have limited movement or strength in their hands or cannot hold a controller (amongst a variety of other reasons or preferences). There's a disabled content creator and accessibility advocate called Arevya who often streams herself playing games with her foot-based gaming setup and it's really interesting and insightful to see!
I get this question a lot but these challenges aren't made out of any self loathing, otherwise I wouldn't do them. A lot of people assume I hate myself for doing these but I kind of have to, it's my job 🤷
I'm surprised that the fish challenge was easier than the bug challenge, but after seeing you do both it completely makes sense. Catch all 80 fish while only scaring ONE away is INSANE and you should be SO proud! Amazing job you absolute madman! Great video and the better than any Bunny Day item!
I don't know if this is the place to suggest it but a challenge run could be: Getting five stars only decorating with items, clothes, or crafting recipies you get from balloons. If you're looking for a less miserable challenge, then you're allowed to craft items with materials you gather yourself. I dont think you can obtain wood through balloons so off the bat it really limits what can be crafted; so I really recommend no restrictions on how materials to craft are obtained. If flowers and trees present an issue then those are also allowed, but, and it goes wuthout saying, dont spam them. If you get a duplicate recipie for something you did not obtain through a balloon originally, then you're now able to use that item for decorating. I'm not familiar with acnh mechanics to know if playing on events *dramatically* increases the spawn rate of decor diy's. However if thats the case, then no playing on or close to holidays. (Not unless you're looking for a quick challenge.) Edit: in the case of money falling from balloons. You can use that money directly to craft an item, place as decoration, or buy materials to craft. What you *cant* do is use that money to buy furniture/tools to then use as decoration. * The only acception to buying furniture items is in the case of something like the carboard box. If you've got the recipe for the big or medium stack (obtained via a balloon drop), then you can buy the cardboard boxes to then craft that recipe. Edit 2: I JUST remembered that you need to make furniture for three of your Islanders. So in the case of those three, it's fine to make what you need for them, since game progression is not otherwise possible. You must take down the outdoor furniture once the villagers move into the plots, though. Adjust rules as you see fit. I thought it would be an interesting challenge. Great vid as always, Dagnel!
For anyone wanting to attempt this challenge (or interested in balloon spawn mechanics): At any minute ending in 4 or 9 when you are outside without visitors, there is a chance of a balloon spawning. It will take a minute to reach shore, and I find the best way to find them is to run up the beach without pressing B and then back down again Event balloons have a slight different spawn time and are slightly faster than normal balloons The side balloons will come in from changes at 6 pm. Which side is when varies from island to island, but it will be constant to *your* island Alternatively, if you don't like hunting them down, you can just gate in your beach with the fence item or other similar tall structures (jail bars come to mind) to funnel all balloons to your waiting spot
"I think I overthought it, I think I overthought, I think I overthought it" Me: "Gee, man, idk, have you considered that you may have possibly... overthought it?" 😂 relatable af though, I've lost many a fish bc I've overthought it
I heard the name Evelyn and like three different characters flashed in my head, each one worse than the last. leave granny alone, let her bake her cookies in peace
I basically exclusively use hearing to catch fish while I either close my eyes or look away. The AC franchise is maybe the only one that I've actually NEEDED sound. And I think that's a seriously cool mechanic.
honestly i love how genuine you are with some of these. like yeah sure you didn't do it perfectly, but who actually cares? you did way better than any whiner in the chat could ever do, you committed to the challenge even after failing and saw it through to the end. like i gotta commend you for this whole thing because god knows if i tried this shit, and i got as far as you did and got as lucky as you did (like i've seen a bunch of your different runs that include getting all the fish and this is like the best fishing luck i've ever seen you get ever) and then suddenly failed? i'd just give up the challenge entirely. but not only did you keep going but you then did THREE more attempts! one of which even almost made it to the end! that's incredible and i do not at all blame you for calling it as you did. hope you're doing well and that you take some time to destress from shit like this
honestly how i counteract "jumpy thumb" is by putting my thumb right in the center of the four buttons and leave it there while the fish is in the process of finding the bobber. that way when my thumb moves on instinct it wont immediately press the button, just move towards it.
you did a great job on this challenge and i’m very grateful for your dedication and motivation to do such a thing in the first place, let alone multiple times
hiiiiiii dagnel!!!!! you really are the ac masochist my goodness. i’ve always been curious tho what does it mean when your switch says seeing if the software can be played? also how the hell do you think of these challenges? so fucking creative man. take a rest man, you’ve been carrying the ac community on your shoulders for a LONG while now
It's because I'm playing a digital copy on a Switch other than the one I bought it on, basically. So it's checking that I'm not playing the same copy over 2 instances
I can certainly see why this challenge may be the easier one and your tips/method for catching seems really helpful as well for it. Both this and the bug challenge are really impressive feats and they are a great watch, thanks as always for making them available as an unedited version on your second channel
@@Cityofember313 I mean, It was well thought by you, it would be the next logical step, but neither art pieces, fossils or sea creatures are interesting enough for their own challenge.
Way too late, but for anyone else doing this, I have a tip: close your eyes after you cast and get the fish pecking. At least for me it makes it near impossible for me to mess it up from an early anticipation press
why would you do this to yourself? what ungodly, evil force compells you to cause yourself such suffering? i genuinely can't understand what would drive you to do this
I managed to catch part of this live (pun intended) and it was awesome, even with the resets! Thank you for making this amazing content for us! To be honest I was confused when I saw this because I thought it was the scraped idea of catching no trash lol
I watched a couple of them streams as they were going on, the final one just hurt dagnel we appreciate everything you do and will continue to support you ❤
What about a run to get to five stars and/or pay off all your debts while collecting as few Nook Miles Rewards as possible? You get Nook Miles for just about everything, so finding the "path of minimum achievement" would be pretty interesting I think. Only issue could be the actual application of the plan ending up very tedious, but hey, that's your specialty! I guess you'd avoid going online as well.
Hi Dag! A fun challenge would be to fill your entire inventory (40 slots) with a single rare fish. For example, you could challenge yourself to catch 40 barreleye and see how long that takes. The mystery islands help as they refresh the fish spawns more frequently. I think barreleye is the hardest to find. I can fill my inventory with sharks and dorado long before I catch more than a couple barreleye.
Your videos are gold I rewatch them often because they're relaxing and so entertaining, the Full Museum never misses. Self sabotage? Maybe, but very worth it
loved this challenge as always!!! i would love to see you try the every villager hunt challenge! It took me 3331 tickets over the course of 37 streams in 3 months to find 404 villagers (all but the 9 on my island: 6 sanrio villagers + deena tank and filbert), so yes it is long and tedious and repetitive but it is so much fun and has a lot of potential data to be collected with it like island types and species and things🥰🥰🥰
I've restarted my island and started fishing again along with watching the vods of this challenge, and I can only say very well done, only one miss is crazy!!
i loved watching the streams but for some reason i love watching it all cut together much more. next idea, finish the museum without scaring off bugs or fish.. that’ll be really fun to watch 😂 or actually make and complete a new island without rushing.. like a dream island/theme you’ve always thought about.
Is there a possibility we could have access to your notes about the fish/bug optimal times to catch? I kind of want to go through all the months to get everything too but it sounds like a pain to figure it all out...
I wish i could've been at the streams more but god the conversations in chat were so fun. The fish scare in attempt 2 was also devastating to see in real time
The gasp I let out when you failed attempt 2. It's like I knew the video wasn't over but you were still so close in that attempt and there were so many lucky spawns. Thanks for another great challenge video!
Late to this one but this was so good! I admire so much how you continued a good attempt even after a mistake but knew your limits with attempt 5 - you did a damn good job better than I could've and the resulting video is honestly just as good, if not better, because you were honest about your mistakes
Challange idea: Reach three stars on an island ( or five, your choice ) using only flowers, plants, cherry blossom petals, and trees. ( can be planted in the ground, or placed in the open in pots or whatever. )
Hey Dagnel, I think it'd be cool if you were to do a challenge where you get every single villager on your island at one point, ,it seems pretty tedious but I think it'd make for a good one!
the listening method for catching fish is the best! during the pandemic when I was playing for hours a day, I'd look away and listen for every fish and it was so effective that I got the 100-fish-in-a-row nookmiles goal without even trying. 10/10 recommend! also thanks for the vid dag
