G'day Nev, those big girls give a great fight on light gear, two years ago I caught a 78cm flattie at lake Tyers off a jetty on a Daiwa infeet EX 1-4kg with 6lb braid 8lb leader which took 15 minutes to bring in. another great vid mate keep them coming, Cheers.
Amazing work. I would like to see some more eging ( squidding) vids. If you are going to a trip to Sydney try Sydney harbour forty basket beach. Got a 29 and 28cm hood squid there in 1 session
When I seen your Insta post I thought it was one monster , well I was pleasantly surprised when I watched this vid !! I haven’t seen lizzards like that for awhile I’m liking this NSW trip ! Great catches Nev .
I love this system mate, despite how many people fish it, it still produces a great days fishing. I got a good mangrove jack on a partricular bridge in the system on a butterflied yakka, i didn't realise they came that far south for some reason. Great video mate, keep it up.
Nice work Nev. Good to see you land some big ones in the kayak, looked like heaps of fun! You got anything in the pipelines for fishing in deeper water on boat? Would be awesome to see you out deep catching some bigger fish. Awesome work as always mate
Hey Nev! might be a weird question but being newer to fishing myself, I was wondering how you personally go about dispatching fish you plan to eat or use as bait? I've seen you whack squid on the back of the neck and in your 12hr food chain challenge you went to grab a whitings head like you were about to rip it off but otherwise I don't recall seeing you actually do it. I'd like to learn what's fast, efficient and ethical and different fisherman have different ways of doing it. If you've got footage of this somewhere, that would be great! or if you'd throw it on the patreon you would for sure get yourself another subscriber 👀
Hey! Definitely not a weird questions, honestly a very good one too. The best methods kind of vary between fish species, almost all of which I’ll brain spike and bleed, squid are different. I certainly can put out videos on the Patreon detailing how I dispatch all of the fish I keep. Whiting, squid, snapper etc
Gday nev, great vid likes always. Some very good quality fish great job! I have a question if you don’t mind, for your leader knot do you use the fg knot? If so I know there’s a couple of versions of the fg knot so which one do you use, the normal one where u do wraps then half hitches? Because I’ve found my fg knots have been slipping a lot. Also where a-bouts your leader knot sits when u cast. Thank you so much nev! Keep up the great vids!
15-18 turns max. Make sure you cynch down REALLY hard after your first half hitch, until the line changes colour. Then 4 more half hitches. Job done. Never failed. Smallest knot.
This is not my first kayak I have had a few over the years . This kayak is a great fishing kayak it's stable and it tracks great its all around a great kayak and a great price I will be buying another one
I always have to laugh when hear ‘JewFish’, we call them Dusky Kob and they don’t have the little hats. Absolute chocker flatheads and impressive yak balancing skills on that little guy. Great vid as always, beautiful day out, thank you.
