During the Thanksgiving break, I decided to take Black Friday and go kayak fishing on Carter Lake in Colorado. The fishing was hot and I caught a lot of big trout, walleye, and bass!

That was a fat winter bass there. Nice big trout. That is a much better way to spend black Friday then shopping!

I love that lake! During summer I tend to troll it with a deep diving jerk bait and it's worked extremely well. I see you're targeting the shoreline so I'll have to give it a try in the next couple of weeks. Good multi-species day and good video.

It looks to me like the bass was a largemouth/smallmouth hybrid (mean mouth bass). The jaw doesn’t extend past the eye when you are holding it and the color patterns don’t look quite right for a largemouth. Or perhaps a spotted bass but I didn’t think they were in Carter.
