In this episode of The Full Scale Fishing Adventures, join Lubin as he fishes a small river in search of Murray cod. Using spinnerbaits and topwater lures he catches some great cod! @The Full Scale - Fishing Adventures
Great to watch man! Great videos! And what I like about Lubin is he’s just as happy to catch a few small cod as well as the big ones, a great love and respect of the Murray Cod. Love your work!
I always enjoy watching your cod videos. I loved the colours on those cod, I wish we had cleaner water like that down here is SA, but it looks like it will be a long time before that happens again. One thing that surprises me is the lack of yellowbelly by-catch when you target cod, even though you'ld expect them on the spinners and the dyno. Keep up the good work Lubin. Great content. 👌
Brings back so many memories from when I lived in Finley and fished the Murray River and Murrumbidgee River for over 20 years and had so many memories catching green fish nothing better but my preference for eating is yellow belly but the excitement is amazing those big green fish just had to subscribe cheers brother 👍🍻🇦🇺 8:26
My favourite time of the week is a new Full Scale Adventure! Just for interest’s sake most of the cod I catch are downstream of the snag. lol I’m not any type of good fisher, in fact watching ur clips has made me aware of the ‘upstream’ possibilities. Maybe it’s cause I fish the faster stuff like the upper Murray. Anyway thanks mate another great clip 👍
Usually there’s a pocket of slack water in front of any structure in fast water so that’s where I expect them to be, just the same when trout fishing but cod being cod they turn up anywhere they like! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
great video just loving watching all about cod, could I as where your are fishing the river looks stunning, I have just bought a tinnier and am trying to find some good spots to fish for the cods ok loving the blog .
I notice that you work your surface lures reasonably fast. Is that because you are fishing higher flows? I mostly fish lakes and slower water and I fish surface a lot slower than that.
Hey Lubin, love your channel. I’ve got a question for the cod guru. When you get heaps of smaller fish does that generally mean your less likely to get a bigger one or do you just wade through the smaller fish until a big one turns up….ie. do you fish some places like this one that you’d call small fish water and some that are big fish waters… hope that makes sense
Hey mate, much appreciated! It’s definitely a case of working through the smaller ones until you get a big one. There’s plenty of big ones in smaller rivers like this they just don’t stuff up very often and add to the fact the smaller ones get to it first quite often too. Make sure you check out next weeks ep as a big one stuffs up 😉
Big or small, the anticipation I get for that "boof" you get .... man,, I'm living vicariously.... lol.. camping next weekend on the Murray,, hopefully I get a few bites. Cheers mate. Thumbs up, and awesome content as per usual.
What a fantastic video, this is a 38 min master class on casting, you put that lure at distance in the most amazing places. I honestly thought you were going to hook up every cast hahaha u nearly did and a great demonstration on the surface lures when to use them and how. Even those late takes away from the snags, you give yourself every opportunity on every cast working all the time. I have to say it again fantastic skills great content thanks for sharing, how lucky we are to see this and have it our own back yard cheers mate thoroughly enjoy your channel
Thankyou for another great video mate. My question is do you take note of barometric pressure and if you do how do you think it affects a cod bite? I believe it plays a part in fishing for other species such as snapper or trout. Generally a rising pressure seems to make the species i target more aggressive. I fish forcod in the yarra and sometimes its hectic and other times nada. Low light is always a factor but barometric pressure is something i want to fully understand in relation to cod feeding times. Any imfo fom your experience of cod fishing would be greatly appreciated Lubin. Keep up the great work! Everytime I see one of your vids I start planning my next fishing adventure! Inspirational stuff ol mate! Cheers Greg
Thanks for watching mate! The barometric pressure has a huge effect particularly with topwater fishing. Usually the couple hours after a big rain event is an amazing time to be on the river.
I'm more into salt water and don't watch a lot of fresh vids, I really want to catch a murray cod though, your casting is so good, flirting with snags every time. Awesome
You notice how these videos love to tell you what to use and what techniques work best and where to buy all the good stuff but NEVER talks about what town hes in or state forest. Please detail where you fish, you know the boat ramp and which direction to head in once on the river.
Dumbest comment I’ve read on a RU-vid video. It’s basic/common respect between anglers to not give out location info. Believe it or not, it’s not just respectful to other anglers who have put in the time to find quality fisheries, but it’s also viewed by some as sustainable fishing; ensuring the masses don’t flock to waterways or fisheries that can’t handle large amounts of fishing pressure. Good on Lubin for respecting the fishery and other anglers.
