His words are deep. Music does a lot for people and those that have the right spirit. Big up to the Father for blessing us with life and the means to enjoy it.
Fun facts about Shabba...He did a song with Eddie Murphy, "I was a King" (1993); Sinead O'Connor had a big crush on Shabba, back on the day; He used to own a mansion, in Norbrook, Kingston, Jamaica, back in the day.

aaron lawerence so am a batty boy because of my comment?I only mention the dancehall artist that wins grammy and not brag about it or throw it in your face....beenieman brags about his Grammy every minute.....he keep using that you validate himself against the other artist that his a threat to his status....so u can stop call me batty-boy now because I've bag more panties than a receptionist from Victoria secret.
Mr Strong B, Shabba hasnt been talking about riches for a long time what makes you think he acting like he is rich, come on man ,plus its his choice to make new music or not at least he is taking care of his family probably he wants to spend more time with his family and very confortable with what he gets from royalties if any or a few shows, leave the man alne
i love Ninjaman but you cannot compare the impact Shabba had to Ninja man. Ninjaman doesnt even come close to half of the impact Shabba Ranks had worldwide
Favourite DJ of the late 1980s and early 1990s. He, Red Dragon, Tiger, Admiral Bailey, Stitchie, Ninga Man and Josey Wales were the ACE DJs in that period, pre Buju, Beenie and Bounty.🇯🇲🇯🇲🎼🎼🎻🎸🎺🥁🎷🎤
My first time catching this show. She was really moving while vibing to the Shabba song. Toronto has such personality. What a set of talented, cultured anchors.
I'm from Guinea 🇬🇳 now living in France 🇫🇷 I use to listen to Shabba when I was a young man. But I don't understand English at that time but from his lyrics I hear what I want it's like he's talking to me But I never knew that he was so real. Love from Africa too. Big up
Shabba is the real King of Dancehall regardless, he put Dancehall on the map for everyone to earn a living. The multi million record sales, hits and several grammies. The first artist to dominate both the international and local charts simultaneously.... So other people calling themselves King, is blasphemy.....🤔
+King Tafari Every Dancehall and Rap artiste today owe King U-Roy their careers. He took Toasting, Deejaying which birth onto Rapping. So to him he's forever legendary.... Well in Shabba defense, in seeing Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel calling themselves King without the sales and accolades... Well what about Sean Paul he's the biggest selling Dancehall artist in history with almost 20 million sold and 15 top 20 hits and 4 number records on the billboard charts.... Sean Paul been the King for the last 14 years...
I started to live in Waterhouse from 1968 close besides King Tubbys, so when the sound is playing, everything is in my house. I know URoy before he did one song at that time, he was the selector and the DJ in those days at King Tubbys High Power. I useto do some DJ too back in the days, because my step father did have a little set too,and I useto be the operator of it.So when it comes to Jamaica music I can tell you a bit of history about it,because I am old enough to know certain things.
I was a DJ at his Trailer Load video release party in NYC put on by Sony Music, Club Negril, midtown Manhattan...waiting for the video to roll was like waiting for the kickoff on Superbowl Sunday....1991...great event, I remember when the event wrapped he made time, talking to me and my wife...nuff jokes!
Bob Marley , King Yellowman, Peter Tosh and Shabba Ranks are the 4 most influential figures in Reggae music. I am not saying they are the best but they are definitely the 4 most "influential" of all time. No other reggae artist is a greater pioneer than these 4 people
Shabba is one of the greatest people to come out of Reggae muzik, when i first heard him speak of family his wife and children it surprised as from his you would havbe him as a gialist but he is way beyond the foolishness and i think him living in the US has been to JA's lost because i think his influence among the dancehall generation that followed him would have been immense.
Hey Shabba , it's good to see you , because , we haven't seen nor have we heard from you , so every once in a while , show your face and let us know , your still around .............. SHABBA
Gentle people please remember that he put in the work and reaped the rewards. He owes nothing to other entertainers or Jamaica. Whatever he does with his time and money is his business and all of you who talk shit about him should shut up and try to recall when Ninjaman was the hottest thing in Jamaica and threw away his blooming career on guns and drugs.
This was 4 years ago. Which one of these acid, alkalines, threes and sixes can reach this level of relevance. After decades of his music, they still seeking him out on these shows. These young youths need to watch and observe and just cool with the hype.
Condolence to you, your two brothers, and families of the recent passing of your Mom, Christie. I believe your Mom taughtt at Providdence in 1970-72 before moving to Mico. She thought she lost you to Music, but it ws on the tip of my tongue to say, "Miss, you haven't lost your son! He's in a different career, that's all." Different, from the one she envisioned for you. She taught you well, but you rebelled to a point. Christie taught us ell, too. Mentioning her oungest son whom she thought was brighter than the clss. Of purse, he had more teaching at home than th set of us did, except those who had a Tacher for parent.
