After BLACKPINK, XG has def caught my eye as another ULT GG for me. They are my second fav girl group and moved up there pretty fast. ALL their songs are BOPS and I see them doing sooo good in the WEST. I had to ORDER their DNA album... every song has really ate for me!
The difference is XG is not part of K-Pop or J-Pop, not sure why they are X-Pop. Probably because they are global Japanese group. But the producer and managers are Japanese and Korean. Amazing team!

Welcome back guys. Been following you guys since blackpink and I’m happy to see you back with XG. For GRL GVNG, it’s them evolving or mutating before their arrival to earth. It’s short cause it was the prerelease track for their mini album. Also Simon decided to make it short to make an impact. Quality over quantity. And also to keep you hungry for more. TGIF is them realizing, their fly enough to survive or to make it being an earthling. This MV was directed by the same crew that did Shooting Star. New Dance is them learning to be who they want to be, be themselves. It’s quite to the point really. As for Puppet Show. It tells the story of being tethered to a world that’s getting destroyed by control. And them trying to “get free”. Basically a prelude to when their world is getting destroyed. In Shooting Star, that’s them leaving. On Left Right, is them on their ship traveling. You guys have to watch their Tapes, Vox and Move contents to show how versatile and talented they are. All are A1 dancers and singers. You must watch their dance practices. They can be mistaken for a dance group. If you want to know how wholesome they are, watch their XTRA days and XTRA XG content. The documentary is a must to really understand the hard work and sacrifices they took. I can’t wait for more reactions from you guys.

I recommend all their choreographies, but the one for GRL GVNG and the one for TGIF I really, really urge you to watch. I love 'Puppet Show' so much because it sounds like a Billlie song but with the badassery and attitude of XG.
Here's a bit of trivia: The "Tamagochi" toy at the end of the "Puppet Show" music video represents the 90's music which XG favours. The 90s kids were attached to their Tamagotchi. Kirsten the former dance captain for the royal family is currently leading jam republic on a competition in Korea. They are literally bringing over dance groove that will change the industry. XG already has that because Japan has a ton of background in street culture and hiphop groove. Latrice (in jam republic) is already hosting choreo classes and the dancers genuinely look so excited and hype.

The NewDNA album is a story in itself and should be listened to, according to the order of tracks as listed on the album to appreciate the context. ° Hesono is the creation of a new female species (the howling wolf heralding their presence); ° XGene is the activation and programming of the species; ° GrlGvng is the provisioning of abilities; ° TGIF is the new breed joining the mainstream of humankind; ° NewDance is their exploration and discovery of life's simple pleasures; ° Puppet show is about empowerment; The album is well-crafted as it is unlike other music albums where songs are put together randomly. You should guys react to their dance practices as well. They’re the first to do extreme yet safe used of chairs in a choreo. I am also a BP fan and i chose XG as my 4th gen girl group ‘coz they brought me back to the 90’s rnb, hiphop and pop. Nostalgic yet so fresh. It’s always not too late to be in the XG World of Aliens. 😊💜😍
Thanks for your reaction, actually XG's rap line is insane because they are actually rappers and write their own lyrics when they do rap cyphers, compared to another rappers in korean GG you can realize that they are forced to be rappers and they are not really clear when they rap in english beside korean. XG is often perceived as a blend of Japanese pop (JPOP) and Korean pop (KPOP). In a Billboard interview with AVEX CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa, it was disclosed that the goal was to establish a global girl group representing Japanese artists and introduce their music to a worldwide audience. Spearheaded by Simon Jakops, CEO of XGALX, XG's management collaborated with parent company AVEX to envision the group undergoing training in both Japan and Korea to refine their singing and dancing skills. Despite initial discussions about singing in Japanese, the decision was made to use English, considering the global and Korean market targeting. Pronunciation received emphasis, given that none of the members are native English or Korean speakers. Simon and Katsumi aimed to carve out a unique genre, X-Pop, rather than slotting XG into the J-pop or K-pop categories.
