Catchupalooza - Thunderstone Quest 

Camilla vs the pollen while Tom marches through the explanation like carrying on the office staff meeting while everyone pretends not to notice Nate making strange noises at the end of the table. Quality! Loved it.

So glad you all got this one in! Fun game but it's intimidating to set up when I haven't played in a while because there is so much content.

There is a really good solo variant for this that makes the game play quickly which is awesome. My son (6) and I have been running through the different set campaigns like that and having a lot of fun!

I bought the Champion edition a few years ago. I still have never played it, but I keep it because I still WANT to! I promise!

I know Eric is the go-to for audiobook narrations, but I now would would love and be terrified of an audiobook on the art of seduction narrated in Milla's flirty troll muppet voice.

Using the prestige boards instead of side quests is a GAME CHANGER. The side quests are mostly underwhelming in my opinion. The prestige classes really add another level to the game in such a fun way. I"ll never play with side quests again.

If you're just looking at Thunderstone being a deck builder that has a static market then yes Thunderstone was just like Dominion. Dominion was just buying things until someone bought enough green cards. Thunderstone you were buying things but you were also adventuring into a dungeon to attack monsters while leveling up heroes. There was no theme to the original Dominion. There was tons of theme to the original Thunderstone. While Dominion birthed deck building Thunderstone took it to another level.

So many missed opportunities to buy anything then use the lantern to kill the rat. Watching everyone lay down 5 coins and go straight to the rat is painful. Thanks for showing off a very underrated game

What 2 (3 max) additional Quest do you recommend to start?

Excited for the top 10 Adventure games vid because these comments are spot on re the TQ pros and cons. Zee, what one-off game would you like like this that has less reading and more flow?

This has been on my wishlist for a while. Too bad it's hard to get at a good price atm.

Have thunderstone advance but rarely play it because I would rather play clank most times we are doing deckbuilders. thunderstone has a pretty awful runaway leader issue, which feels way worse when playing 2 players. The game can drag on sometimes and it can be a long time knowing you are going to be in last place. Kind of like how Zee started off, if you get really average hands for the first 2-3 rounds you can fall quite far behind and it snowballs.

I recently bought this game. We played it the way it said to the first time you play. I was disappointed because it felt like Dominion so I was super disappointed. Now I want to play it Epic because that would be more to my taste.

I just get a combination of dominion/ascension vibes.

I believe Barricades uses the same board. there are special tokens you use for it. I was excited for it, but I really disliked barricades mode. Just felt stressful and way too hard

Was hoping the quest version would have streamlined the game a bit, it seems like it is even more fiddly now. Oof.

The recommended setups for each set works well most of the time. Epic is fun but has issues. The regular way to play is easier if you use the story sets. Random with set piles is much worse than epic.

Why not compare it to the deckbuilding game ? That would've been interesting
