June 12, 2020 - Still watching, Cate and Rooney chemistry is undeniable. I hope they will and forever remain friends since filming Carol movie together. No matter what a part of Rooney will always be in Cate's life, since Cate's 5 year old daughter's middle name is Patricia. Rooney's first name is Patricia--coincidence, I think not.... I love these too..

Cate and husband Andrew adopted Edith when she was an infant in March 2015. Cate and Rooney were filming Carol Movie while Cate was going through the adoption procedures. Carol Movie based on Patricia Highsmith novel, was released in 2015. Rooney Mara's middle name is Patricia. Cate admitted during a Carol Movie panel that she did indeed fall in love with Rooney while, they were filming the movie. So stands to reason Cate gave her adopted daughter the name Patricia in honor of Rooney and Patricia Highsmith. Countless people fall in love onset but choose to leave it onset and that is what they chose to do. Cate will always and forever have the memory of Rooney by knowing her daughter's middle name is Patricia.
Here's everything I get from this: Both Cate and Rooney crossed their legs so that they are facing each other more or less. Cate could have easily crossed her legs the other way because both Rooney and Julianne had their legs crossed one way. Social cues would have you also cross your legs that way in order to not be in Rooney's personal bubble, BUT Cate obviously wanted to be closer to her. Their feet are touching and I'm sure they feel their closeness. Both are leaning into each other when conversing and their shoulders are touching in a way that the other people's aren't. Both Cate and Rooney tried really hard to look good for each other. Flawless make up and admittedly more than I remember Rooney wearing except for premiers. Outfits that are revealing in ways: Rooney had the sheer blouse with a dainty black bra and Cate has that plunging neckline with a freaking choker. Both of their shoes are to impress. Cate shaved her legs that morning because there is no sign of stubble. and the ringlets of her hair are not natural. I mean obviously, right. she used a curling iron, duh. But consider that most times we've seen her with natural, relaxed waves. There was careful thought and effort put into her look. Same with Rooney. Her hair obviously took a lot of time to have it slicked back like that. Julianne Moore can obviously sense the sexual tension between the two. She keeps looking around with a slight smirk like, 'do you guys see this?' and also not daring to interrupt their conversation. I just get a very third wheel vibe from her, but also that she whole heartedly supports this ship.
Rooney and Cate shippers everywhere.. what if they are a couple for real? I’m sure everyone is freaking screaming in excitement right now.🤣 Forget about Cate’s husband and Joaquin Phoenix, the women are sensationally in love!😉
OMG that comment is gold 😂 they are obviously really close to each other. More like soulmates rather than lovers BUT i my personal experience as I had a chance to work film industry obviously not in USA I think it's clear that I am not a native American based on my writing with lots of spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes anyway what I am trying to say that maybe their professional relationship grew up for a while to be something different. They might had have a quick affair together. We will never know. Good bless them both.

I think unfortunately not. Based on the fact that the movie is based on the book Prize of salt by Patricia Hamshmith from 1952 which is also the year the movie Carol is set in and there is no following book (story).

You have created a masterpiece that simply depicts love to be love with your astute skills and refined skilled people. My second mother survived WW2, had no junior high school to attend, was the first openly lesbian author, movie star, chanson singer, night club owner, talk show host, music educator, and a fierce feminist who helped hundreds of creative people succeed in their lifework under her care. I think your film has helped me stand taller, dream bigger, become hopeful in this cruel world, to hold something with a strong grip and lightly let go knowing that humanism will continue to be further explored by the next generations in their own terms and esteems. I will name my next blue water sailing trimaran, "Carol Found Love" When people ask me about the name, I will let them know in my imagination, Carol lived happily after. This film has similar acceptance and emotional uplift as Skylark Ascending, recorded with London Philharmonic Orchestra.

I think, as Cate once wittily put it in an interview, Cannes may be, that the chemistry between them is just normal. I feel Cate and Rooney are androgynous charming actors, loved by both men and women. Whatever their sexual orientation is, the chemistry ignited between them is simply true, rare, beautiful, and a bit heartbreaking.

i'm impressed by their complicity and the sensuality and tenderness of their body langage... Specialists of communication say the body langage can't lie... they were all in sight of each other, they caress them, touch them, Blanchett has eyes on fire and Mara blush ... like a real couple. It's really looks like to a loving and sensual attraction. It's obvious to me, even if maybe nothing happen between them. Othermore, we should take a step back with the appearences of two hétérosexual women who are in couple (many fake couples, or couples not still in love after many years but in a deeply friendship). By curiosity, i try to compare. Cate Blanchett do not kiss her husband on the lips on public. The kisses are in the cheeks ! With this kind of body langage, Cate Blanchett looks like to have more dearly and loving complicity with Rooney MARA than with her husband.
