This is a post-screening moderated chat with director Todd Field and cast members Cate Blanchett, Nina Hoss and Sophia Kauer of the film TÁR.
The film was screened at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures theater on
6 Oct 2022 in Los Angeles, CA. It was very well attended with an almost at-capacity crowd!
The chat was insightful, candid and really provided a lot of info about the film and the story.

Fun fact: Todd Field played Nick Nightingale (the piano player) in Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut. And Cate Blanchett played the masked woman's voice Eyes Wide Shut.

Yes. I agree. And they encourage everyone to stay for the chat! They mention it on the invite and even on the confirmation. But sadly people still leave. It doesn't matter what movie and who the stars are, there are always a few people who bolt for the door the minute the credits start.

I can only think of what I would give to experience a Q&A with Todd Field, Cate Blanchett and Nina Hoss. I've seen Tár 24 times at the cinema. If I had the chance this people had, I would never even dream of walking out 🥺

Who took the score? Francesca? My bet was on Sharon ;)
@sakurauchiha5562
@sakurauchiha5562 5 месяцев назад
I still have the same doubt!! Who took the score???? It’s less likely that Sharon took it. Probably it was Lydia’s mother-in-law. She was alone with Petra at home. Besides, Francesca talked to Lydia in her office.
@justalangusta260

@@sakurauchiha5562 it was obvious it's Francesca. I was being sarcastic.

@@justalangusta260 yeah but that’s the thing. Francesca and Lydia were talking at Lydia’s office, right?! Well then, Francesca left leaving Lydia alone at her office. Mmmm I’m not quite convinced it was actually Francesca. I could have been Petra too 🫣🫣

@@sakurauchiha5562 Francesca took it. Sha could have access to the keys.
@sakurauchiha5562
@sakurauchiha5562 5 месяцев назад
@@justalangusta260 of course she did. Even Eliot says he tried to extort her in order to get Lydia’s score. But here is where some more doubts arrive: 1. Why does Lydia ask for the keys to Francesca? Was she already fired and she had to turn them back?? Or it was just a matter that Lydia forgot the keys in her office and her assistant brought them back to her. It’s kind of weird ‘cause Lydia could have taken them back the next morning though. 2. At the concert scene Eliot was using Lydia’s missing score??? If that’s the case, how the heck Sharon didn’t noticed it?? Anyway I bet there were some rehearsals before, yet she didn’t notice he was copying Lydia. I’m definitely overreacting and overthinking on this film jajajaja but I love it 😍

Adding an additional comment: The interviewer talking about Faulkner and apparently liking the tone of his own voice, wasted too much time with his own diatribes. He likely bored many in the audience who might have stuck around. Audiences today are sadly programmed to have short attention spans. A cerebral, thoughtful, relevant film is not likely to sell as many tickets as a super hero film. Sucks. People want fantasy, not relevance. I appreciated the film and the marvelous performances. Wish the DVD release had bonus material. I would have loved to see deleted scenes, such as Lydia’s 50th birthday party.
@susieq8424
@susieq8424 Год назад
I think Lydia's birthday party is in 'The Fundraiser', right? The short film Todd Field premiered at the Berlinale but that apparently won't release internationally... Maybe we'll get it with a Criterion release.
