I pray to God these connectors/cable type aren't implemented by IT departments in Silicon Valley tech companies anytime soon. Looks like a total pain in the ass, you would need a full 5 minutes just to do one. Labor costs to replace existing premise wiring at a corporate/tech campus would be exceedingly high using this technology/product. It would require months instead of weeks to rewire a typical IDF/MDF room, not economically feasible unless its a huge company like Apple or Google.
Cat8 does 40gbps and has a max range of just under 100ft at 30 meters. It competes with fiber but it is meant for very short runs. It is not something you run an entire campus in. It is for short runs to a switch, server or something similar.
I've used these connectors and its actually really easy if you try.. only gripe is they're expensive. but try terminating with a regular punch, good luck with that
