That design of snap swivel has bent out on me before, Id recommend just a barrel swivel with no snap. Also it is a good idea to put a bead between the sinker and the swivel to protect your knot.
@@rese7977maybe but a pack of 100 beads is like $3 so you might as well, it’s nice to have the peace of mind that your weight won’t cut your line somehow
Yep, peace of mind is where it's at! That constant rubbing and rubbing of that weight is going to break down that line. Just throw a bead on and call it a day!.
@@rese7977how many times have you cast out and lost the whole rig at the swivel? probably none you may have broken off on a snag or fish but without user error you probably never had your knot give where your weight sits above and that’s the work of that bead. most of us don’t use the same knot long enough for it to matter but always better safe than sorry
@@cameronwilson4782 take 50 lb braid wrap it around both hands and stretch it out and rub it on a concrete curb back and forth and then do the same with 50 lb mono and tell me which one takes longer to break
@@settinghooksncrossingeyes8372 yeah that’s a completely different story. Braided lines a lot stronger and thinner weight by weight 80 pound braided is probably as thick as 20 pound mono, mono also has memory it stays int the shape it’s taught fuck mono
If theirs rocks On Bottom it’s pointless for braid line the catfish love diving deep into holes when u set the hook and half the times lock the weight between rocks and if it’s braid the first rock that cat grinds the line on the braids gone 😁
Have you ever had one of those snaps but will straighten out on you I lost a big fish that way I will never use that type of snaps Louisville ever again I like your rig up 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Won the leader rip off that leader that’s to change different hooks it’s best to put weight on the main line and bead at the end double swivel Barrel tie mono line and hook
this is perfect just add a bead where the egg sinker touches the barrel swivel. and ditch the snap swivel stop being lazy and just retie a new leader onto a barrel swivel big enough fish will bend that snap swivel out especially that weak ass one
