This is video footage from 5-26-17. It was Memorial Day weekend which is a time you wouldn't normally find me on the water but I decided to fight the pleasure boaters to go fish my fourth day in the Yak Tribe tournament. I am glad I decided to fish as it turned out to be one of my best days of fishing in 2017. I was anchor fishing on Watts Bar. I ended up catching two monster blue catfish, a real nice flathead, a quality striped bass, and several more fish. It was an amazing day and definitely helped add to my lead in the Yak Tribe tournament.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 just got to say what an amazing video + I always enjoy watching your videos on RU-vid. 🆗 This weekend especially Saturday where I live they wanted to be in at least 70s which is going to be great for fishing. Haven't been catfishing in a while so I think I'm going to do that this Saturday. Before I do I got to go to the grocery store and pick up some chicken liver. That's pretty much what I always use for catfishing is chicken liver especially raw chicken liver. They love that stuff. It's been such a long time since I've been fishing for catfish I don't know what the size limit and how many we are allowed to keep. I got to check that out. Cuz if I keep the wrong size and catch too many of them & keep them. I dont wanna whine up getting a fine and I don't want that. Anyway to those who are doing fishing this weekend in this nice weather good luck. have fun and hope you all catch some big ones.

In the last month iv had pleasure boaters cross my lines having to cut my 80lb. Braided line. I reeled 2 of those boats to me and saved some of my line the last guy that crossed my line I cut it and watched him for 2 hours getting my line out of his trolling motor .

Thanks! My sinker size varies depending on how I am fishing. I use 2 to 8 ounces depending on the situation. I was using 2 ounce in this video.

One day I'll have a Kayak I can Catfish out of, the one I have now is not stable enough to do the type of fishing you do. It's more suitable for fishing Creek's and Rivers with moderate current.

+Robbie Crowley I wish I could stay on fish consistently lol. I just always make sure I fish good structure that should hold fish. When they are there I catch them and when they aren't I don't. I fish a variety of different types of structure including all those you mentioned above. I do have a cheap black and white lowrance mark 4 graph to show me depth, water temp, and my speed. I mainly rely on navionics though. Being able to read a lake map is critical to being able to find big fish.

I have fished Cherokee for bass but never for catfish. If I were to rank my baits in order, I would put 1. Skipjack 2. Shad (gizzard or threadfin) 3. White bass. 4. Everything else. I use bluegill pretty regularly for convenience but it isn’t a preferred bait by any stretch.

Depends on the individual dam. The last few years have been terrible here. Most of my skips have come from the main lake. Some dams are still loaded with them though and spoons are great a bait no matter where you find them.

+trextrextrex Probably be best to do a demo day at a local dealer so you could try a few out and see which will be a good fit for you. At your height, you will probably feel cramped in a lot of kayaks. I would definitely recommend trying before buying.

If I make that info public, every bait dealer in the area would be out there pounding those locations. Skipjack are just getting too hard to find in good numbers for me to burn the few places I have.

They are getting harder to find here in good numbers. At least for me anyways. Every year I am spending more and more time to catch fewer and fewer skipjack. I am not a biologist and don’t claim to be so I have no factual evidence as to why they are getting harder to find. My uneducated opinion is that the rise in popularity of catfishing as well as the increase in numbers of bait dealers, both local and out of state, who catch as many as they can for resale has made an impact on the skipjack population. Just one man’s opinion.

You may be right on the skipjack population and over fishing for them...guess ill try the gulp minnows, wax worms, and a couple of my secret weapon baits as well as the mini cast net... I'll get something for bait....I ain't a fan of liver, chicken pieces, dough baits, or dip baits...I wanna play like the big boys and throw the bait fish chunks or whole lol... Catch some them old whisker fish...btw you do a great job on your videos bro I love watching them... Keep up the good work...

On our reservoirs it’s so bad that if you have a hot temper it’s best no to even go, No fish is worth killing a bunch of drunk yuppies. I fish the nasty weather on purpose and love it when the assholes finally realize that summer is over.
